Greetings and welcome to My Pajero Sport.
This channel is devoted to my 2016 Mitsubishi QE Pajero Sport. In other countries it's also known as a Shogun Sport or a Montero Sport.
I've never owned a "proper" 4WD before so this will be an adventure to share with you.
I have owned a Subaru Liberty / Legacy Gen 2 AWD.
When I was an apprentice motor mechanic I did a lot of work on Land Rovers (Series 2 & 3), Land Cruiser FJ40 and 6WD Nubian fire engines.
I've also had several AWD SUVs such as the Holden Captiva, Mitsubishi Outlander and Subaru Outback but they were fully maintained company cars and I didn't do much more than put fuel in them.
I haven't swung on a spanner professionally for 30+years so expect some poor choices, mistakes and downright stupidity.
I'm sure it will be fun.

9 Rear Stabiliser / Sway Bar Side Link Rubbers Replacement (Will They Last?) My Pajero Sport
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I replace the worn out rear stabiliser bar (sway bar / RSB) side link rubbers with some bushes I found on AliExpress. It's a small experiment to see if they are durable so I'm not saying you should try them yourself. This is an easy job that most people can do. 8. Bargain Anaconda Dune Camping Awning Installation (includes DIY Channel Brackets) My Pajero Sport
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I install the bargain $59 2mx2m awning I bought from Anaconda. I also make my own (badly cut) channel strap to attach the awning to the roof rack. I could have bought some channel / track / t-bolts but chose to justify my collection of hardware and tools by DIYing the job. :-) Subscribe to my channel ruclips.net/channel/UCphj_KjBCVsnyQp9pNzIGPA Greetings and welcome to My Pajero S...

This video is about a short but fun drive we did in February 2022. It had been raining for days and we saw the "Not for 2WD" signs on the road near our accommodation and decided it was a great opportunity to start using the Pajero Sport as it was designed to be used. 5 Storage Pocket Rubber Inserts. Stop Those Annoying Rattles. (Cheap Accessories) My Pajero Sport
Просмотров 1952 года назад
I enjoy buying budget priced accessories from the big Chinese online shop and trying them out. In this video I fit a set of rubber inserts to the many storage pockets in the Pajero Sport. It's a cheap and cheerful upgrade that might stop some of those hard plastic rattles. In the end I can't stop myself and make something for the glove box as well. Просмотров 2,7 тыс.2 года назад
As part of my budget build for the Pajero Sport I biught the cheapest 3-piece bash plate set I could find. It's Vonnies brand from OCAM industries. Great value, good quality and easy to fit. 3. Temporary DIY Tyre / Tire Puncture Repair with Plugs. (Will It Hold Air?) My Pajero Sport
Просмотров 1582 года назад
In this video I demonstrate how to do a temporary repair on a tyre / tire. It's something that may get you home when you are miles from any tyre shop and it's Sunday when everything is closed. In some countries these aren't compliant as a permanent repair but when I worked at a tyre shop in the 80's this is all we used (I guess it was the 80s!). By coincidence, one of my kids got a puncture in ...

2 Cabin Air Filter Replacement. Cleaner Air in Your Montero Sport / Shogun Sport. My Pajero Sport
Просмотров 8722 года назад
In this video I change the Air Conditioning Cabin Air Filter in my Pajero Sport (Montero Sport / Shogun Sport). The maintenance schedule says to change this filter every 12 months but it's obvious this job hadn't been done for a lot longer than that. It's an easy job and almost anyone can do it. “Too lee”
Does this work with a rhino rack?
Is it ok to install these while on uneven floor ?
You could do it but you'd be dealing with a spring (the sway bar) under tension. The rear axle has to be parallel with the body with no tension on the sway bar.
Hi, where did you get the service manual.
Google "MMC manuals"
Hey mate, have you tested the bash plates? How are they holding up to 4wding?
Yes, they do what they are supposed to do. Covered and scratches and the paint is chipping off but doing great.
@mypajerosport956 cheers. I installed the stainless bash plate from custom off road few weeks ago
Where can i buy that?
Do you have links in ali express for this, but hard to find this stuff.
👍 great video thanks
Thx for watching.
What’s the thread for the strut mount?
8mm (??) maybe 6mm?
Just fitted one from western filters and I ended up putting the bracket over the existing strut bolt thread and used a nut to tighten down, bit of a pain to tighten the smaller bracket to the side as I didn’t remove my air box. I’ve also put a rubber insert on the bracket holding the catch can to stop potential rubbing on the brake fluid reservoir. Apart from that it’s good.
You say putting the bolts throught he bar is bodgy then you can't even cut a straight line in steel. You faffed around to reinvent the wheel when there was no need to.
I know I can't cut a straight line. There's a lot of things I can't do but I have a crack and it costs me nothing but time.
Hi, dont suppose you have a link to what u bought??? Cheers
Now with 25k km and still like new. a.aliexpress.com/_mttPR0M
Thx, good video. The torque required is a bit misleading in the beginning, good you mention it towards the end that it is for the second nut. For info, the stock bushings are same size as your aftermarket ones. Take care
Thx
You can't slide the bars to a custom distance apart then? You have to stick to where the holes are?
Other brands don't have the pins so there is some flexibility in where they can be positioned. You could take a chance and grind the pins off the Mitsubishi units
love the idea of the bar inside. Great video, thanks for sharing.
You're welcome
Save up a lot of mucking around when u cut thread just cut off where u want don’t worry about dies or nuts. Grind the thread end on to your bench grinder wheel. What you are doing by doing this instead of filing or grinding around the thread is forming the burr to the center of the bolt. You will never pick up even into alloy. Hope that makes your next bolt cut down less stressful. Awsome cheap awning just bought there 270 for my boys setup. Cheers
I agree. I probably couldn't be bothered getting the bench grinder off the shelf. I did Aug-Oct camping in The Gulf Country and Northern Territory and it did a great job.
how are they holding now sir?
I recently finished a half lap around Australia including a lot of dirt roads and 4WDing. About 18,000km so far. They are still good. Even I'm surprised.
@@bradleygray2103 thanks a lot
You're welcome
Do i need to jack it up?
Not necessarily. As long as you can get in there.
Very helpful thank you
You're welcome
thanks for the vid, when you replaced your intercooler hoses i hope you used the silicone ones as those rubber ones have a tendence to crack
Yes, used the silicone units from Off Road Daily.
thanks for that vid, I'm about to do mine except i trying the Superpro bushes
They are supposed to be good and the full kit allows for some adjustment. I've done 16k on mine and they look OK
Did you lift the vehicle to make te change?
I had my car on stands doing another job but it's not necessary to do that.
Thanks mate, this helped alot, interesting to note on my 2021 Exceed the air guide panel doesn't need to be removed or shaved off. The bottom half of it is rubber that bends. Pic of it here for example :) Thanks Again i.postimg.cc/tCLCxkFb/20220713-123840.jpg
Mate what model Pajero sport do you have I have a 2022 Exceed & wanted to check if this would work on mine.
Mines a 2016 but the underneath is all the same on them.
Great to have another pajero sport channel on RUclips.
Thanks. I hope I can add to the knowledge base and help people DIY a few jobs.
Good job Brad. Did you get any vibration in the end? If you use a scan gauge is there any difference in temps?
Hi there! No noticeable change in NVH. I haven't got a scan gauge. Even if I had one, I've only been driving around the suburbs. They need to be under a bit of load to check for temp changes. For my use and the way I drive I really doubt there will ever be an issue. Thanks for watching.
Hi Brad The PM10 and PM2.5 means better than 50% efficiency at removing 10 micron and 2.5 micron particles respectively. It is in the note at the bottom of the insert sheet you are reading at 3:08. Cheers
Thanks Davo. Sometimes my eye for detail is a bit blind.
Ha ha ha! It always pays to RTFM (properly), hey Davo? 😂
