The Real Folk Blues [short ver. acoustic cover]
Godot is a globally available program and more people don't care for, or don't understand, U.S. politics than those that do. Essentially coercing people to tow the company's line, or remain in silence, is a completely moronic thing to do. Getting blocked, banned or ostracized by Godot for asking it take an apolitical approach is wild, they're acting much like hard-line religious zealots.
I don't know what happened, I had Lethal but I fuckin lost it. No idea where I put it
Thank you Neo very cool The Godot stuff is sad though
Stilll watching the vod, but thanks for making a Rust/Godot stream, I'm making an RPG inventory system, and Rust's borrow checker seems like it'd be ideal for preventing the common inventory exploits you see in things like Baldur's Gate 3 and Tears of the Kingdom. (And a lot of other games, lol)
Thanks for watching! gdext is still super early so there are breaking changes occasionally, but it hasn't been too bad. I had a bit of a learning curve getting used to the borrow checker (my first time using Rust in a project), but it's been worth it for performance and memory safety. And it'll probably be easier to go from GDScript to Rust if you aren't trying to integrate Bevy like I am. Still have to look out for logic errors though. Good luck with your project! (btw I don't think I touched any Rust code in this stream, but I did in some of my older game dev VODs)
@@NeoPawlino oh ok thanks i'll check the earlier streams out. I played with Bevy and a few other Rust-based game engines and didn't like what I saw, Rust is powerful, but I think it's best in small doses, at least as far as gamedev is concerned. What documentation did you get started with? And what exactly are you using Rust for in this project? I know that I want to invoke Rust rather than C++ (via GDScript) in specifically item management cases but Rust is pretty inconvenient for anything else, especially with how long the compile times were for something as heavy as Bevy.
@@rosly_yt I have a simulation layer to handle performance critical stuff (enemies, projectiles, pickups) using Bevy ECS, mostly because I want large hordes of enemies in my game. There aren't a lot of resources so I mainly use the godot-rust docs (godot-rust.github.io/) and the docs for whatever other crates I'm using. For bevy+godot I actually used this godot+flecs test project as an example: github.com/paulfigiel/godot-flecs-sample/tree/main Compile times can get pretty long, but they're less bad after the initial compile with the dependencies.
@@NeoPawlino That's super helpful, thanks! I just put together a Linux machine and I've been looking for a project for it, and last time I worked with Rust, Linux had several really significant speed increases that only ran on Linux, so that might be worth trying out. Assuming, of course, that the speedups outweigh the hardware performance differences between the machines. I'll see if it turns out to be anything when I get the time to fiddle with it.
Neo dodging chat 2ah, thanks for the vid and nice deck

Wow, as a member of VOD gang it was really cool to hear Neo Pawlino [FlaVR] shout us out. Thanks gamer. Very cool.
I raided her solo.
So nice to see you even if I wasn't there live At least I can hear your voice
Unfortunate that you didn't get a blind experience, with chat backseating hard. But still a fun playthrough
This stream was so real
good stream, would watch again
Dawm
I did not make it in time, Jebver

the vocal effect is crazy :O
Finally able to get on and it ends Jebver
TY for the steam neo. I was at work when it happened but I am watching it now.
Good job, keep coding!
Finally got to finish this, thanks for that! I was able to experience this game without playing it, and I know I would never play it myself I enjoyed the journey even though it's not my kind of game, I'm grateful you were able to play it and show it off so I had the freedom to go through it at my own pace and not deal with parts of it I may not have enjoyed It's an okay game, I understand what they were doing and I'm glad you liked it It really is a lesson in humility, not everything is about you, and even if it seems like it you shouldn't make assumptions, especially without evidence That's why I always say to myself "it's just a coincidence," because sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn't, and I'd rather be wrong when it isn't than when it is; it's just safer that way
fucking nailed it
Great stream!!!!!

Nice playthrough! It's interesting to re-experience this game after being a content creator for a while. Hopefully we can aspire to be a little more like Coda in our lives. How did you like it?
Really interesting game. I found myself thinking about it and watching/reading other people's takes on it for a good while. In particular the focus on the separation between what the creator was thinking/feeling and what the audience thinks the creator was thinking is really unique. I found parts of both Davey and Coda relatable and it left me with lots to reflect on.
only in vtubing would someone wonder if being mentally stable is hurting their chances at success
Loved the Ken Ashcorp cover!
It looks really good I should try it out
Nice stream bud I'll try to tune in for some others in the future
Hello buddy I will watch this good luck on your journey UPVOTE!!
Very cool! Nice vibe
as a massive fan of bebop this is based
amazing
Fucking fantastic
Holy shit
You have a smooth tone and can talk over the game. You did well for a first stream and washed yourself clean of the foul stain of vtweeting. Great work. -Yours Truly dog
