Tekton Tools Warranty: Hype or Reality?
Tekton Tools Warranty: A Painless Experience (Broken 3/8" Breakover Bar)
The breakover Bar came from this set.
TEKTON 3/8 Inch Drive 6-Point Socket and Ratchet Set, 73-Piece - amzn.to/3ZQJ8kW
While working on our family tractor I broke the head of my Tekton Tools 3/8inch breakover bar, It twisted off right where the socket connect to the head. I have had my Tekton socket set for a couple of years and have never had to warranty a tool before, but I remember that they claim one of the easiest Claims procedures for tool.
In the video I document the procedure which is super simple, you just snap a pic of the broken tool with your name and the date in the photo, get on their webpage at www.tekton...

Can A TikTok Item Be this good?

I was Sent this item from Altitude Craft for the purposes of this review, And I was pleasantly Surprised. The Bolt and Nut Thread gauge from Altitude craft is a well built Item. Pick One up Here: amzn.to/3WAtNmB It made from lightweight 6061 aluminum, anodized and laser etched. This Item really should last a lifetime. My only concern is the wear on the female threaded side after a few bad bolts...

Unboxing The Veto Pro Pac OT-LC Wiha Red Stripe Edition
I was told that with a craftsman tool and name anything can be accomplished. I work in the trades been doing so over 5 years now and I still commit to this brand. I buy most of the older hand tools from eBay for the USA built stamp on it but craftsman makes great power tools now then they did at sears.
Nice, they were a popular brand back in the day! Thanks for the comment.
Team Pica for me" 💪
I'm sold on Pica!
aint watching the video but it is reality, all i ever had to do to get a new tool was take a picture of the broken one and emails it to them, they sent a new tool right out, worked on screw drivers, a few bits, an Allen wrench and one 1/4" ratchet in 10 years
Yep, it was as easy as you stated.
3/8 breakers shouldn't exist
agreed i just go for the 1" for everything but 1/4.
Agree, but I had it from the kit, so I tried it and lost lol.
@@jestermetalworks now your stuck with it forever in this endless loop of lifetime warranty. The perfect trap.
I was watching and it went 2 views....1 views
Wierd
It looks like a crazy Minion 😂
True hahahaha
Question. I just unboxed this after owning a porter cable. I assume this thing is going to pressurize to 165 or so every time. Manual does not say. If I need to control my output pressure to say 80 psi I assume if I set the dial to 80 that is the amount of pressure I will get coming out. Anyone know if that's true. Owner's manual sucks and technical support is unreachable.
Correct, the output pressure is controlled by the knob, dial it to whatever pressure you need coming out of the hose.
Thank you!@@jestermetalworks
Lol. I did not read "FLICKable" at first!
lol, yea , it's flickable, not sure if its a good or bad thing! hahaha
That is an orange milwaukee fastback
@@cdb4123 the clip is different along with the handle, but its close.
no idea why there are bad reviews on it. To start its a destktop run of the mill 55w CO2 laser that connects to lightburn that is half the price (or more if you waste your money on a glowforge) of similar spec'ed and quality machines. So whats the is issue? Too many xtool fanbois out there.
Truth, I think some people just expect these lasers to be push a button and bam your project is done, there's a little more to it.
I remember when their screwdriver sets were sold in cardboard boxes at Sears with the picture of them on the box. I don't like the fact that the tools are in those plastic blister packages. Or whatever you call them. It just makes them look cheap in quality.
Yep, craftsman has changed a lot over the years.
Thank you for showing us how it all works!
You bet!
It looks pretty good without the paint.
Thanks
Thanks
Cool , amazing what these machines can do nowadays !!!!
Indeed!
I used mine 3 times and the pressure regulator failed. I builds pressure until you shut it off. Not sure it's worth fixing.
Well that's not good, I have been using mine pretty much daily, no issues yet.
$41 value, on sale for $39.98 😱😱😱
A steal at that price lol
I’m a Klein cocksucker but I can’t stand their multi drivers the lil bearing or whatever it is that holds the pieces together blows I’ve been trying out the wera 818/4/1 and I’ve fallen in love with their handles hopefully it lasts me but I put an impact bit holder n cut my own notches in it so it acts like the rapidaptor n replaced all of weras bits with impact rateds n I got another the 817r which is the same thing without the bit holder with the Klein 9 in 1 flip socket set and I don’t have to run to my truck or tool chest too often anymore I’m lovin it
Agree, I have had the little bearing get loose and drop the bit and sleeve down into a machine, annoying for sure!
Might be good in the shop to identify fasteners,.
Yep, that's how we always used them, match the old to a new one from the bin!
Old of course!
Of course!
Yuck, those screwdrivers were the worst, usa or taiwan made. Preferred the soft handle ones or the sk rebranded from the professional line. Currently, the V line has the nice france made facom rebranded drivers. Even the new composit handle ones are nice, but super basic. A lot of people still use craftsman 😅, its a cash cow for SBD, and they have been improving the brand. Unfortunately, their attempted usa comeback was a failure, lots of bad planning, and a lack of qualified workers.
Back in the day, I'm talking in the time before Amazon, your choices were more limited. Sears and Roebuck, the original mail order system for us old timers were pretty much your go-to way to get tools, at least for the DIYer or homeowner. Back then, craftsman tools were the way to go. Now, you can get tools from anywhere. Thanks for the Comment!
@@jestermetalworks yeah i know, bought lots from sears. quality kept changing every few years from sears changing suppliers.
Don’t you just hate when that happens
Yep, not my best day!
Thx. I see box stores don’t sell these. Just online or where? Thanks.
True, I haven't seen them in the big box stores, Amazon is where I got Mine. Pica Dry Pencil - Amazon Affiliate Link - amzn.to/3VSi4On Markall Pro - Amazon Affiliate Link - amzn.to/3XQ2s0t These links get me a small commission, but you can just sign in and look for the item if you'd like! Either way works. Thanks for watching!!
@@jestermetalworks thx. Whys it called dry
@@donotrobme9295 Pica makes a variety of marking tools, the Dry line denotes a pencil, They have An Ink Line along with a Gel line. Hope that helps!
Markal pro at northern tool
The ratchet function on mine has a free spirit and decides not to work or not work as it sees fit. I have not figured out the cause or the fix. First Klein tool failure.
I haven't tried the racheting model yet, good to know
I bet that thing weighs a ton
It was pretty hefty, luckily I only had to move it from the locker to a golf cart most of the time.
Can you warranty craftsman tools at Lowe's?
I have heard mixed stories, some say it's been no problem, some have said they had issues. I have never personally tried to warranty a craftsman tool at Lowe's So I can't say for certain.
Started out with a Craftsman toolset from Sears some 40-odd years ago. Still have them even the 1/2" socket!
I always loved the sears tool catalog, nothing like tool porn!
Old 1947
I wish! Lol
who doesnt know that lowes carries craftsmen now
I think everyone knows.
yep, my first kit too. I still have the key chain screwdriver on my keys. the chrome is all gone
I remember that screwdriver, don't remember where it went!
I’m only 20 and most of my stuff is craftsman, Milwaukee and snap on. I remember getting my first ratchet set and drill from sears and warrantying them a time or two just for them to go bankrupt a few years later. Wasn’t just a store lot or memories and let alone history in that store. Sad to see it go to a big corrupt corporation that barely lives up to the warranty anymore
True, back in the day Craftsman was THE name in tools for the homeowner DIY Types, now its an "also ran" at a big box store!
Dad bought me a set of Craftsman tools when I turned 16 to work on my 1967 AMC Rambler. I'm 60 now and lost dad in April. I still have those tools and think of him every time I use them.
@porkchop955 Wow I had a 66 rambler wagon with a flat head in it. I am 66 now and yea my Dad bought me a toolbox with tools from Sears . And I lost him 2 years ago May.
Same story, I got the set for Christmas one year, then went off to the army so my dad kept them with him. He passed last January and I'll be damned if he didn't still have most of the set.
@@jestermetalworks Thank you for your service.
@@porkchop955 It was My Honor to serve! Thanks!
33 dollars for all those tools. Can't even get a box of rubber gloves for 33 dollars.
Hahahaha truth!
Yep back in the 1970s building up my toolbox with craftsman. Wouldn’t waste my time with them now.
That's what I thought too! But Lowe's is sure proud of em!
The board looks great!
Thanks
We recommend only mixing up enough Penetrating Epoxy for a single project at a time. If you leave the mixture in a cup too long, it can overheat. Glad to see the board turned out great after a bit of sanding!
Yea, I knew better! Totally my goof. Time management is my weak spot lol. It worked out in the end, the penetration worked. Yay total boat!
Nice job!
Thanks!
How’s that grip holding up for you? Has the rubber come discarded from the plastic yet? Klein screwdrivers are garbage now
Not on this particular screwdriver, but I have had one come apart, but that was after a couple years of use.
Thank you for sharing. You may well save someone's hands/life by doing so. PS "itching like hell" means it's healing. Always a good sign. 👍
That's what I was shooting for. Thanks for watching!
I’m going to go into the A&P program with an end goal of being an industrial maintenance mechanic. Do you think maintenance mechanics will be in need for the next 20 years?
No doubt, even if they replace all the workers with robots, someone has to fix the robots that break down. I think the time of robots repairing themselves is a ways off.
@@jestermetalworks awesome to hear! Thank you for your work and I can’t wait to get into the trade! Cheers!
@@Drum93bum Good luck! When you get to working, find an old timer that's been in the trade for a while, Just watch every thing they do, they will have figured out the tricks and if you keep your eyes and ears open you will be ahead of the game!
@@jestermetalworks I will definitely be a sponge when I get paired up with an old timer. Those men are the ones with the real tribal knowledge
I think we have all done dumb stuff just like you. I know I try not to have have respect for my tools but the truth is I have been lucky.
Yessir, it can all change in a second! Just trying to send an ugly reminder to everyone...Stay safe, but be ready when bad stuff happens, cause it will! Thanks for the comment!
The height of that piece keeps your hand away.2 to 3 inch tall board yes a push stick,
True, push stick may not have been called for here, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Have re-sawed many pieces and have never used a push stick for that method flipping end for end.I believe a push stick in this instance reduces control of the piece.
It was doing ok, made the whole cut, then at the end i just lost focus and the push stick hit the blade. Probably would have been ok without the push stick! Thanks for the comments!
Nasty! Glad you're going to be okay.
Thanks! Everything healing as it should!
Hello bro! How are you?
All good
Thank you for sharing your story. Good reminder for us to not become complacent when in our shops. Just a little slip in attention and you never know what can happen.
So true, even when you think you're doing it right, it can go bad fast!
Thank you for the video. Speed recovery. This helps me to be careful. God bless 🙏
That's what it's all about, hopefully seeing what happened to me will help people to remember to be safe! Thanks for the comment and the well wishes!
Thank you for sharing!
No Problem, trying to get this unfortunate and slightly embarrassing incident out there to make folks aware and remind everyone to stay alert about table saws! Safety, always Safety! Thanks for the comment!
So the SawStop would have not helped you. I wonder how many other 'table saw injury facts' are like yours in the data to the soon to be law to MAKE us buy a saw like theirs. Sorry you have to live this, but the chicks will dig your sexy scar. Oh yea, then there is the 'I was at the beach one day swimming in shallow water...' stories.
Exactly, The ER doctor even asked If I was using the guard, and for the record, no I wasn't, But the nature of the cut wouldn't really allow it. Either way, I didn't make contact with the blade myself. The push stick was the culprit here for sure, and I never saw that coming, so to speak. PS the ER Nurse said to tell people it was a shark bite! lol More interesting story! Thanks for the comment and stay safe!
JFC damn!!!!!!!!
I know, right!
I'm always concerned about kickback and I have, what I believe, is a healthy respect for the blade's power. BUT, I NEVER even considered having my push stick kick back at me. I'm sorry for your injury but I thank you for sharing your experience to help and educate others.
Exactly, the push stick is supposed to be the safe option, I never thought in a million years that would be what bit me! Thanks, just trying to remind everyone to stay safe and maybe this will add another safety check for table saw users!
No shade whatsoever but I want to highlight the “I have, what I believe, is a healthy respect for…” Nobody believes they have anything besides a healthy respect. Every 9 fingered carpenter had, at one time, what he believed was healthy respect. Now he has 9 fingers. Healthy respect looks like fear countered with courage and tempered with experience. Anyone who doesn’t fear a high-rev blade is simply too stupid to recognize the imminent peril they’re in. Anyone who doesn’t have to courage to work through that fear has no business near the tool. And experience should temper, not cancel out fear. Too much of our society’s men believe fearlessness is synonymous with courage. It isn’t. That’s marketing pure and simple. You can’t be courageous unless you encounter fear and proceed anyhow. Thank you for attending my TED talk.
@@addammadd Lotta truth in that TED talk!
I have prayed for your quick recovery. Thanks for sharing. I have had kick back episodes, nothing serious but it gets your attention. You are right, they happen so quick. One rule I try to follow. Always have your phone handy, and in reach and someone that will respond in case you are losing blood, especially those of us on Eliquis. May God bless you.
Thanks friend, I put this out in hopes that others can learn from my mistakes. Stay safe out there!
