I can tell you don’t have any idea about Greek. There are three ways to describe the past in Greek. The way you interpret „was“ would be the aorist. The aorist in koine greek is not marked at an exact moment, it means that it just happened somewhere in the past unmarked, and could mean that it is not anymore today… However in John 1,1 the tense imperfect is used „was“(ην)… which has a meaning of duration, ongoing etc. So just by this word we can see how John uses the language precisely to make sure everyone who reads it, understands that Jesus WAS in eternity and always will exists in eternity.

True! The MANY who claim to be Christian are workers of lawlessness according to Jesus (Matt 7:23). It is only the FEW who would be doing God's Will (vs 21). Compare Matt 7:13,14.

@@tongakhan230 tks for yr answer. John5v42,43 Jesus comes in Yahweh's name not his own name. So I wonder whether it is more accurate to come in the name of Jehovah/YHWH/Yahweh than Jesus. Re Mat 7v21,22.....is a warning? John 17v3 He says to 'know God & his Son Christ for everlasting life'. I think this is the problem they don't really get to know who exactly the Father is....the focus is mainly on the Son. Obviously very important as our salvation lies with Him but overall all creation whether angelic or human ultimately belong to the Almighty Father Yahweh. what do you think?

@@meisie62 : Isaiah 43:10 is about Jehovah's Witnesses. They declare God's ONENESS as the prophecy makes out. The fact there is only a people known by the name Jehovah and not by Yahweh makes it obvious that God has no problem with that form of his name. There is only ONE God. The Father. (1 Corinthians 8:6) there is actually TO US ONE GOD, THE FATHER, from whom all things are and we for him; AND there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, Jesus is the one God SENT from heaven (Galatians 4:4). Namely, an angel. That is why he is called a SON of God (compare Job 1:6). 'and the Word (Jesus) WAS a god' is the correct translation of John 1:1. Angels are mighty beings. Jesus is very important to True Christians. However, they only worship Jehovah, the God Jesus too worshiped. (Matthew 4:10) Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to HIM ALONE you must render sacred service.’”

If you look it up in the library you will find that they claim that Jesus only the mediator for jw "anointed". That is a very sad situation for the 8-10 million "other sheep"

The Trinity doctrine was given to us by the Holy Spirit as was the Bible itself and was promulgated by the same Catholic/Orthodox bishops… History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church, guided by the Holy Spirit, that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century, just 75 years AFTER the council of Nicaea which began the Trinitarian doctrine and subsequent councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved these scriptures by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

Jesus himself said John 17v17 Gods word is truth. of course there was the great apostasy when the ppl were in the grip of the latin catholic church. Only the reformation and guys like Luther and Wesley gave ppl a chance to read in their own language. Scholars have since seen many spurious texts and frankly the only religions I know of who worship triune gods were Egyptians Babylonians. Somehow, your Church Fathers decided to incorporate this false teaching. I think at that time it was Constantine who was basically pagan & last minute converted to 'Christianity' to appease most of his domain he included summer soltice/saternalia into the christian theology. Anyway, at the end of the day, we each make our own choices on the matter and pray that the Father will draw us to His Son John6v43-47 agape

The WHAT was revealed in the Old Testament (Watchtower gets this right): - the one divine being revealed to Moses (I AM), - the God of Abraham, - YHWH, - or Jehovah. WHO God is, was revealed in the New Testament: - three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Question: Why did the Jews want to kill Jesus?

Jesus is also worshipped forever in that book as prophesized in Daniel. I understand all the verses that show Jesus praying to the Father and receiving authority from the Father, but that is consistent with orthodox Trinitrarian doctrine. We believe Jesus is begotten, not made, and shares the same nature with the father. I don't understand how worship of Jesus in the Bible doesn't seem to be consistent with the first commandment and Deuteronomy 6 if the Father and Son do not share the same nature. That was supposed to have been settled in the 4th century when they had a council about this controversy.

So you think all the 1st, 2nd and 3rd century Christians (along with all the churches who followed what that council decided for thousands of years) all got it wrong? And a group of people in Brooklyn in the 1950s who predicted the end of the world incorrectly a bunch of times got it right? God’s revelation is meant for all and He gave us His spirit to understand it. If no one knew what He meant until JW came about in the 1950s, His word would wasn’t very effective. The Bible has Jesus sharing God’s nature, forgiving sins, being worshipped and served forever in eternal dominion, participating in creation, being better than angels, having authority to replace OT commands, having divine powers, making all things new, and judging the living and the dead. If that is not a picture of Yahweh/Jehovah then I don’t know what is.

@@genotriana3882 let's face facts not all on that council agreed, those that didn't were put out, so there was no complete agreement and since that period of time down to today do you think the they have done a good job in representing God's words with wars genocide, rape, immorality, worship of idols etc etc etc etc I dare you to show me one period of time they were not heavily involved in politics sending troops to war even though Catholic were fighting Catholic I'm sure Jesus would have wept with shame at what organised religion was doing to his people at lest the Jws even though not perfect do try and live there lives according to Jesus example

Sacrifice is pagan. Gods are pagan. Spiritual beings are pagan. What isn't pagan? The "pagan" claim is a way for JWs to shut down conversation so they don't have to look at what the Bible teaches. It allows them to shut their brain off and let the GB fill it with whatever nonsense they desire.

The Trinity doctrine was given to us by the Holy Spirit as was the Bible itself and was promulgated by the same Catholic/Orthodox bishops… History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church, guided by the Holy Spirit, that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century, just 75 years AFTER the council of Nicaea which began the Trinitarian doctrine and subsequent councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved these scriptures by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?
