23:31 damn! That frame looks sick! What cards do you guys got in there and which gen is mostly represented in there? It’s hard to tell from the distance. Part of me is hoping you’d have like one of those super rare gold star holo Rayquaza or Torchic cards! Those are some of the most rare cards in existence if I’m not mistaken
13:46 YES!! Dude, I do the exact same thing at home mine! I always just have it on stand-by just in case I feel like picking it up and just swinging it around. In fact, I remember when I was younger, my brother and I would go to like Target or something, go to the Star Wars aisle and fight each other with lightsabers and try to “cut” each other’s limbs off! Oh how I miss those days…good to know I’m not the only one who still loves to do this!
Yeah…I’ve heard many of these same Christian stereotypes before too, and sadly from my own experience, whenever I hear these stereotypes second-hand from other people, it often seems like it’s coming from a place of hostility or pre-conceived biases. I mean, some are too bad, like Christians only listening to worship music (11:55), while I think it’s not necessarily true, there is some truth to this, but context needs to be taken into consideration; and then as far as Christians don’t know how to have fun and are always uptight (12:52) again I think it comes from non-Christians who already have a pre-conceived bias based off of an inaccurate overgeneralization.
1:02:01 what an amazing sermon Noah and highlighting Rahab’s story! Love how that story teaches us that ultimately God’s pleasure with us in all our brokenness is through our faith in Him and not our good or bad sinful behaviors.

Miranda is so well-spoken and insightful and hearing her testimony, her Christian clothing company body building journey and how she keeps her calories down (29:52) was so cool to hear about! I’d imagine that doing something like body building the competitions she does has got to be challenging at times since you’re more prone to comparing your own physical to others (18:38) but man, did she have some amazing things to say and really shows her love for Christ! Love it!

24:47 YES!! Rogue One is where it's at! Everyone I know always says that Empire or A New Hope is the best and I'm not denying that those movies are masterpieces, but Rogue One is SO overlooked and ignored! It's like James said, actually having the guts to kill off all of your main characters in grand fashion is how you make a massive impact on your audience and to where the stakes actually feel real! Sad that most movie franchises don't get that, especially Pirates! I know similar to James, I felt the exact same way when Kung Fu Panda 4 came out and was like, "Why so much character REGRESSION? Kung Fu Panda 3 ended so perfectly!"
Bro! After what James said in this episode, I swear I'm gonna be spending the next month driving myself crazy on the whole bus interior vs exterior thing! Part of me wonders if there's a secret stache of blueprints of those buses that Ms. Frizzle has stached away somewhere

26:49 oh YES! Cooked rice on your socks! I know that one VERY well! As a Chinese-American man, I can say that this one is so annoying, especially if you live in a household like mine where rice is served in almost every other meal and you're totally right Brandon, it's SO hard to pick off if you step on it (well I mean, you technically CAN pick it off but then you're just left with all the extra residue) even if it's just 1 grain of cooked rice - oh the pain of that one, Asians know this one well!
My gosh! You guys have some really funny and weird pet peeves going on here, though I will admit I do resonate with a lot of them here (well except for the pouring a glass of water when it's dead silent hahaha)! The chalkboard one where your teacher never finishes erasing EVERYTHING on the board I totally get cause that same thing bothers me too and I remember in middle school I would actually call my teacher out in the middle of school to erase the entire thing to where then a couple of my classmates would immediately be like, "THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THAT" as if I wasn't the only one bothered by the small patches of chalk that wasn't erased yet. Thinking about my own pet peeves though, I dunno. I tend to not get bothered by a lot of things, in fact, you'd have to go out of your way and be legit cruel or intentionally de-grading towards me if you actually want to push my buttons - but let's see here. Well, I would say my biggest pet peeve is when say something sucks like a movie or something they'd say something like "EVERYBODY says that this movie sucks" when in reality, not EVERYONE hates it so it is bothersome when people think they can speak on behalf of EVERYONE. I'd much rather that person say, "A LOT of people I KNOW say that this movie sucks" cause at least that way you're not speaking for everyone but just for yourself and your experiences, not mine or others
@@WaywardFanboy that’s a good point! Not speaking on behalf of everyone is better for sure!
What a deep episode and really great dialogue you guys! I certainly have struggled with that exact same question before of "why would God, who is all powerful, all knowing and all loving create a world where there is evil and allows it to exist to where bad things happen all around us?" but I really like how you guys put it as that God didn't create evil, but rather evil entered our world when we sinned against God and chose to not follow him when we ate from the tree - that analogy of heat and cold was a really good way of explaining it too! Though it is interesting that at the end of the day, there is NO clear answer that we humans can ever understand to why evil has to exist in our world, but like you guys said, there is something really beautiful about how the evil and horrific things we experience in life can then turn into very powerful and beautiful testimonies on how we as individuals today willingly come to God and follow Him because of the terrible things we may have endured prior to following Him. I know it's that way for me, I don't think I would have ever committed my life to Christ had I not gone through the terrible things I've had to endure
@@WaywardFanboy it’s such a challenging question that we have to wrestle with, but like you said, even through all the evil and pain God can still use us and our testimonies to honor and glorify Him!
Aye! Talking about which fictional characters can beat who in battle is like one of my favorite conversations to have! I have SO many thoughts about some of these. First: Superman vs. Thor - look I get it, Superman is super OP and can be boring a lot of the time, but let me tell ya, there is truly some amazing Superman stories out there that are just not being talked about that much lately. You guys should definitely give "Smallville" (a Superman origin story TV show) and the newest show "Superman & Lois" out (it's currently in its final season) a watch, or at least the pilot episodes for each! These 2 shows definitely do the character of Superman a lot more justice than the movies are right now! As for who would actually win, I think Thor has a good chance to actually win and here's why: YES it's true that Superman's weakness is kryptonite, but he actually has several other weaknesses as well that Thor could easily exploit! Alongside kryptonite, Superman is also vulnerable to magic and red sun radiation. Since Mjolnir and Stormbreaker main power source comes from magic, it's likely that Superman probably is at a disadvantage there. Keep in mind too that both Superman and Thor can travel across space. Superman's main source from his powers come from yellow sun radiation but there are other parts in the galaxy where solar radiation comes from a red sun instead. Take Superman's home planet of Krypton for example, before it was destroyed, life on Krypton was sustained by the red sun, hence why no Kryptonians who lived there had powers until they got to Earth - but then you might argue "Krypton was destroyed when Superman was a baby, how could Thor in modern day find a place in the galaxy where there's a red sun?" EASY! In modern day, a fragment of Superman's home planet called "Argo City" actually survived the destruction of Krypton and life there is sustained by red sun radiation so none of the remaining Kryptonians who live there have powers of any kind. If Thor stalled Superman and they both flew across the galaxy near Argo City, Thor would easily have the upper hand since his powers come from magic, not sun radiation. It's really about exploiting location rather than trying to beat Superman through brute force on Earth.
38:15 I really like that insight - "don't follow the religion, follow Jesus Christ" because of the fact that Christianity in a lot of ways has been corrupted by imperfect humans who self-proclaim to be perfect. I heard something the other day that really stuck with me which was basically along the lines of how "having a mouth full of Scripture and a heart full of hate" is not how you follow Jesus Christ and that really struck a chord with me cause I think that's part of the reason why a lot of people who are curious about following Christ don't end up following Him at all because of how other people who proclaim to follow Christ treat them in real life - hence why it's so important to put our best foot forward to behave and love like Jesus Christ did despite our imperfections. I always see it as, "you don't have to be achieve 100% results every time when becoming more like Christ, but ALWAYS put 100% effort into your journey into being an image bearer of Christ for those that don't know Him yet"
@@WaywardFanboy well said!
1:03:58 hahaha the fact that you guys mentioned the Power Rangers while talking the disciples and humility had me rolling - and to think you guys filmed this episode a year ago!
@@WaywardFanboy yeah it’s almost been a year since we started!
I'm with ya there Brandon! I'm personally not a fan of eating wet egg yolks either, but I mean if I HAVE to eat them I can tolerate it but it would have to be on a separate plate away from the rest of my breakfast cause I don't want those wet yolks to get all over the rest of my food. Now if it's scrambled eggs (which is how I like 'em anyways) I'm all down for that but there's no way that those eggs would "ruin" the rest of my food, especially the toast. If I'm gonna put eggs on toast, it's ONLY going to be scrambled eggs on toast, no other form of egg will do it for me

Ooh, where Star Wars started going downhill is a tough one for me to think about cause my mind goes in like 500 different directions on where it might have gone wrong. I know some people primarily blame the downfall on Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm while others blame it on the prequel trilogy. I have several thoughts on this: For the prequels (particularly episodes 1 and 2 since I think 3 was actually good), I think the romance plot involving Anakin and Padme was a contributing downfall, which if you ask me personally I did find some of that plot to be unconvincing, though I will admit it did come together in episode 3. Now the reason I'm bringing up the prequel trilogy is because I think how the producers and Lucasfilm reacted to the reception of the prequel trilogy may have impacted on how they approached the sequel trilogy. Unlike the sequel trilogy and other future Star Wars installments that came after it (video games, animated shows, Disney+ shows, etc.), the prequels at least tried a different approach in how they wanted to tell their story and expand on the Star Wars mythology. For example, look at what was done with episode 7, most of the plot points from that movie were re-hashes from the original trilogy. Now while I think The Force Awakens was pretty solid overall, the producers may have approached the sequel trilogy with nostalgia bait because it felt safer than trying something new like they did with the prequels. To their favor, it did benefit them with episode 7 doing very well at the box office, which may have lead them to continue down this path. This was further exacerbated by the time we get to episode 9 and the return of Palpatine, which had no prior build up whatsoever and again relied heavily on nostalgia baiting. In episode 7, one of the more innovative storylines that was introduced was the unknown origins of Rey's parentage and the abandonment of her parents. Episode 8 revealed that her parents were nobodies to further the feelings of loneliness Rey experienced most of her life, allowing some character development for her outside of her being a Mary Sue and really good at everything, but when it's revealed in episode 9 that Rey is actually part of Palpatine's family bloodline, it undid the storyline that episode 7 and 8 already tried to set up, resulting in a rushed storyline that seemed more like an after-thought. Episode 9 basically contradicted the implication that Rey's origins may be more ambiguous and less tied to legacy characters from past movies. Since episode 8 tried to take a more introspective and subversive approach to the story, it didn't help seeing a sudden pivot for episode 9. Now yes, it's true that Star Wars has had a few major hits and successes under Disney's acquisition (The Mandalorian seasons 1 & 2, Andor, season 7 of The Clone Wars, etc.) but keep in mind, those successes are more geared towards those already invested in the Star Wars universe. For a general audience who primarily may only be watching the main lineup of movies, the mixed reception of the franchise may discourage new fans from becoming invested in some of the other media Lucasfilm is currently putting out. Again, that's just my thought process on where Star Wars MIGHT HAVE gone wrong.
@@WaywardFanboy those are some great thoughts for the downfall of Star Wars. Hopefully they can get back on track and give us the Star Wars we want and deserve! Thank you for sharing that. We appreciate all the comments!
Now that's what I call resilience!
