Transform Your Old Car Interior in One Day
So I wanted to redo the rear speaker tray design and rear passenger sub woofer enclosures. The other ones I built just did not impress me. So I spent some time looking at many other designs that I really liked and put all the aspects in the updated look. Using 1/2" mdf, vinyl, universal grill sheeting and many hours of labor I finally have something worthy of the car that I personally built at home in my garage. Hope this diy helps inspire you to build your own.

I finally pulled my home built 1969 Chevy Chevelle a-body twin turbo out of the garage to take some pictures for a new channel logo. Real short 2 minute video with a walk around after I washed it off. Still need to wet sand and polish after it goes in for the final dyno run before I start driving it. So excited! Every thing from masking it off, sanding, minor filler use, primering, remasking it off, painting and clear coating it. If there is a certain part you'd like to see more off, let me know and I ca...

The finishing touches putting this ride over the top! Just ordered our 2 shirts! Please add the work shirt/polo styles. Ty
Awesome! Thanks and I will see about adding them also Chris!
Let’s FN GOOOOOOOOO! That’s what a custom interior looks like. Great work Ol son.
Thanks so much bro! Appreciate you always supporting the channel!
That's awesome man I think I'm going to do that to my truck once I find a leather
Thanks Herman! I used a vinyl from Amazon. Want the link to it?
Nice grill Paul Wall!
Hahahaa
Question. What of your lights go out
Not sure. 😆
I'm sure all of us are looking forward to the full video!
Man thanks Dreko!
Can’t wait to see the final results
Thanks for always supporting the channel!
What book it that with the wiring diagrams?
Hey buddy. The book in the video is just the one that came with the painless wiring harness. I used a factory manual for the Camaro switch wiring diagrams but they are backwards wiring. Meaning they use ground as a signal instead of 12v like classic cars do so you need relays. Hope this helps
I love it . I bet this car makes it to the track .working man stuff
Thanks Camaro! It just might see the track!
I believe it to hold that much. I build mine with duel feed direct , sonnax boost valve, tcc valve and afl valve kit, shim to be tight, holds 800+ hp easy
I agree Gumby. These transmissions will take a beating when built right for sure.
Beautiful car sig
Thanks Clay! Appreciate it bro
very nice car n excellent work u have done,, iam also working on 67 camaro with LS3/6L80e swap in CA, my car ws blue originally, but bro i like yo custom color touch, i want to go blue again, love the blue u have, i know for sure its custom mix..if u don't mind i would love to have my car painted same blue, i will highly appreciate the color code or color mix (name), thank u n keep the good work going
Your car sounds sweet! My car was also originally blue that’s why I stuck with a blue. It’s a custom candy I made specifically for this car.
@@SOB_Garage thx nice car enjoy
Great work. I think I would park the Chevelle outside while doing all that sanding.
Thanks! I would but my driveway is always full.
Looks fantastic! Where did you find the carpet?
Thanks Mike! I added a link to it just for you in the description
Thank you, ordering some today!!
@@Mike-cw4cp awesome
What/ how do you keep the walls secured from falling over in the trunk? I’m laying out the trunk in my 64 Riv, and was thinking possibly of using magnets. Your trunk looks great
Thanks Jason! I used magnets in the last one and didn't really like it even using rare earth magnets. I drilled a hole about 3/8" and insterted on of the tee nuts I added in the description. They are very handy. I love to put them on the backside of stuff also which stops any possibility of them pulling through. If you look real close you can see one in the video. I only used 1 per corner. 2 per corner would be a little better but I couldn't get to another spot to drill once they were in there. Hope that helps.
Just picked mine up last week! #975. At 400 miles. Can’t wait! I paid $102,000
One of your most impressive accomplishments. Amazing work
Man I really appreciate that Chris!
That trunk looks like Money!
Thanks bro!
Nice and smooth
I agree!
Question why didn’t you use the gen 5 console you prepped it for in earlier videos?
Yeah I put so much work in that and it looked so cool! Thanks for watching the other videos. I couldn’t make the shifter work properly so I had to find a different shifter. I guess I wasted 50 hrs at least with the other console.
I know how annoying that can be. Why didn’t it work? I am doing the exact same thing in my 78 Camaro but shifter seems to work out🤔
@@duniet you must be using a different transmission. I am using a 4l80e and the travel is different.
@@SOB_Garage your right, mine is the 6l80. If you ever feel like swapping gauge cluster from a gen 5 let me know, I’m working on encrypting all the canbus messages, so I can run a gen 5 gauge without error codes because of missing modules. All you need is a bcm and a few wires :-)
That yard needs to be mowed!!!!! My E-Ray is 321 what is yours?
I wish it was mine! It’s my buddy’s. I believe it was the last one made for 2024. Have you hit your 500 miles yet?

Baller A$$ ride!
Right! I wish I had that kind of money!
Hot damn son!!!
Thanks bro! It is so sick!
Great video. I appreciate you telling viewers the truth about the PIT-A_S level it was. I will probably pay a shop to put my parts in my core as long as it cost no more than 3 digits.
Smart! Let me know how much it costs!
I’d really like to edit the dash in my 1970 El Camino. Can you help point me in the right direction possibly? Just not a fan of the stock sweeping speedometer and instrument cluster in it. Would like to replace it with modern needle gauges and make space in the dash for a modern radio setup.
I would measure the gauge holes and try to find some aftermarket gauges that’ll fit right in those holes. I bet you could find some. Basically slide the new gauge in the dash holes and then put the clamp on the backside holding the gauge in. Then you would just hook the new gauges up to the correct new sensors. You could probably do that over a weekend and it would make a dramatic difference.
Looks good bro!
Thanks bro!
The way you speak about doing a rebuild gives me the confidence haha. Any chance do you have any updated part numbers? Some of them are currently unavailable. Also thank you for making these vids
You can do it for sure buddy! I’ll update the parts list for you within a few days. Thanks for letting me know
Such a beautiful ride bro! Sounds and looks amazing.
Thanks again Jamie!
True art work
Thanks Jet
Thanks for the tip.
My pleasure Jamie!
Darn fine work Ol son!
Really appreciate that!
Looks damn good to me!
Thanks bro
Good stuff man
Thanks man!
You make it look so easy bro!
Thanks bro! It’s not too difficult once you know the steps.
69 chevelles/Camaros are the best looking GM cars. I had a friend and he had a 1969 SS396 Chevelle and It has been my dream car since I was 12 years old. I like the Chevelle a little better than the Camaro because they have a full frame that can be reinforced. Thanks!
Thanks Chamber! Me too. My frame is reinforced. It’s almost finished and I will miss it I’m sure.
Definitely better than I could do!
Thanks Jamie!
Hi SOB what do you sand down the engine bay with? After the high build primer. Thanks.
Depends on how it looks. If it will need to be primed again I’d use 220 grit. If it may be the final coat before paint - 400 grit. Does that help?
Nice work, what thickness aluminum is that.
I think it’s about 16 gauge?
Love it. Great journey and so happy to have been able to work and learn along side. For the viewers, the car is beast, and this is just the base setup, it can be a ton faster. I know Sig will keep chopping at it for a while. ALso note, this car will BE FOR SALE SOON. Again, congratulations Sig!
Thanks bro! I’ve appreciated all your help and encouragement along the way for sure.
That’s a really clean looking Transmission.
Thanks Jamie!
100% agree, doing it yourself will save alot. Its funny you put this video up. Im putting out my 4l80 video out today. I spent a LOT of money on mine but it would have been double if i paid someone to do it. The car sounds great man
Thanks! I am very glad mine worked 😂
@@SOB_Garage I hope I have the same luck lol
The paint looks so good
Thanks!
👍
Thanks
We'll planned out air ride system. I didn't hear any clunks, bangs, or bumps when it went straight to pancake mode.
Thanks. Just fixed it today and added some new stuff to help make sure it doesn’t happen again. It will be in the next video.
