Peter Bichsel - Trauerrede auf Max Frisch
A glorious performance. I was following along with the score, thinking about taking this on with a new four-hands partner. It's inspired by some translations of Arabic tales by Rueckert, the same poet who inspired Mahler,
Großartig interpretiert. Es kommt der kompositorischen Absicht meinem Gefühl nach sehr nahe. Übrigens: Katharina Wolpe ist die Tochter von Stefan Wolpe.
Sound like a webern
😂😂😂 completely crazy
Потрясающее исполнение!

is it possible to add English subtitles?
BS.
Incroyable document.

ah, yes, thank you. all the pianists wanted it so bad..... (no, they didn't, lol)
It's a pleasure to have a glimpse into that world of Darmstadt, to hear both of them speak in such an exquisite german with their own personal accents (especially Maderna is wonderful to hear... To catch a sample of his venetian accent after he stumbled on a difficult number is priceless), to look at the immense culture that was being created in that period... Even aknowledging how the Darmstadt movement was a kind of cultural cul-de-sac, and feeling almost compelled to smile at the utter seriousness with which they use what inevitably comes off as a sort of jargon of the avantgarde, one cannot but marvel at the amazing richness, the culture and the intelligence of those composers. This is an extremely precious document, and I thank you for your upload, as well as the plethora of other precious shards of music history on your channel!

What an insult to scriabin. Such complete garbage. What a joke of a composer.

Fascinating to hear Ligeti’s thought process in composition in his own words. Thanks for posting.
Thank you
thanks for uploading, what a gem!

Clouds of Clocks. Genius.
wow!!
liar; but a genius ; but a liar -- tbh (lol)
Me encanta
Carter really is just Schoenberg without melody.
Do you say this under ever RUclips video of his music? Quite the weird crusade
@@chequereturned where else did I say it and how is it not true?
@@coreylapinas1000 I've seen the same comment at least a few times, though I'm not about to search for all of them. But for one example here you are saying the same thing under his flute concerto: ruclips.net/video/UnQeG1WMjrE/видео.html I disagree with it but didn't even say 'it's not true'. I said it's a weird bit of negativity to spray across videos of his music if you have so much disdain for him. And it's ultimately a vague and subjective take with nothing precise enough to prove or disprove. But even if you think it's true, it's a weird crusade. There are many composers I dislike on musical grounds but I don't go to their videos and repeat the same attack under even one, let alone more, of their videos.
@@chequereturned so much disdain? The only one with disdain is you, directing it at me. I merely summarized the music.
@@coreylapinas1000 You summarised Carter's music as someone else's with a major element missing. That obviously comes across as disdain for his entire life's work. I'm merely pointing out that your repeated comments on a RUclips video are strange, not denigrating your life's work - how is that possibly more disdainful than your comments? That seems a rather hypocritical response.
❤
the metronome piece is a glorious work of zappaesque humor belonging in music. its a a biting resemblance of the audiences applause phase fading out to the last claqueurs slowing handclaps, which makes it really funny and absurd :D
What a great RUclips channel is this! And by the way, after years of devotion to Durey and his music, I didn't know this performance of the Op. 7! Very refreshing and interesting!
The original 2 piano/percussion/chorus version of "Etude pour Espace" was performed once only, on 22 April 1947, in New York. One of Varese's biographers noted that a recording was made of the performance, presumably on amateur-cut 78rpm records. There is certainly evidence here of the sound of records being played - some surface noise, and spots where the record is flipped over. It also seems impossible that this could have been "faked" in any way - with obvious recording glitches/distortion baked into the mix. So. . . Can you provide any info on your source for the audio here? (Thanks)
This is me! Robert Murray - Tenor. Lana Bode - Piano , at the 2017 Aldeburgh Festival, Britten Studio.
It's amazing that this historic recording survives and can now heard at last!
