I'm feeling similarly regarding Instagram, still wanting to take up space and not leave completely, but somehow engaging without putting a ton of emotional energy there. It's so tricky! But it sounds like you're thinking about it all in a really healthy way, so I look forward to hearing more of how you tackle it all! And your book looks absolutely gorgeous, well done!!

I just got on your discord 😊 The auto-follow situation on IG was the last straw for me. Searching out other ways to keep up with my favorite creatives.

I found your channel when you first started mentioning changing your business. I myself sell primarily on etsy, but haven't posted on IG since August 2023. Do you hope to post on IG when you release a new product? Also, are you nervous about a drop in sales from letting go of IG?

I posted either a long form or short form video to RUclips weekly last year and loved it. Personally, it was a game changer and I am doing it again this year.

The book looks so amazing! I want to use it too and would be interested in purchasing one.

I feel you, Cancer Rising sister! I deleted my Instagram app 10 days ago after a few long doom scrolls really affected my mental state (haven't been on FB, either during this time- and I don't use the app). Your account/Stories were actually some of the only content I looked forward to when I would go on IG bc your posts are/were bright and inspiring. I mostly got fed up with all the sponsored ads and posts in my feed from creators I don't follow. I followed and interacted regularly with ONE animal rescue account, and the algorithm would sometimes show me a lot more animal rescue, including graphic stuff that just tore my heart apart so that was a large part of me leaving. Now I just donate monthly to the animal rescue I followed and spend up to 30% less time on my phone.

One of my subscribers directed me here & I’m so glad they did! 🥰

Also here from Threads! I so appreciate you sharing your thoughts during this heavy time. I also feel this pull away from posting and prioritizing on Instagram. It somehow just feels a little selfish when so many people are going through heartbreak and tragedy. For my business, I've decided January is going to focus on rest and organization for the year. I'll prioritize seeking new business in a couple of weeks. It's also my slow season so I've really been enjoying your videos and looking forward to watching more!

We do things exactly the same 🤣. I do all my own spread sheets for my P&L's and file all my own quarterly sales tax, but I pay a CPA to file my income tax. I have 2 DBA's under my Maspero's L.L.C. You have been the best mentor I have ever had, but also long distance bestie 🤣. I am forever grateful for the impact you have had and continue to have on my life! I definitely wouldn't have been able to do my own book keeping without running a whole ass kitchen with you lol

Love it Chereen! I also have not set any goals. Just need to rest. Also the reflection posts/videos people do are totally not necessary. I think it’s cool if that helps you process your year, but it’s more for you than your followers. If you don’t do one, I don’t think anyone will miss it, and like you said we are already overwhelmed with feeds full of people’s reflections.

Thank you for this video. It hit home for me because I've been feeling pressure to have all my ducks in a row on January 1! But it's OK to take some time to be deliberate and thoughtful about new plans and goals. My Word of the Year for 2025 is FROG -- it's about "eating the frog first thing in the morning" and doing the hard things.
