16 channels, 5 subwoofers, ultra short throw projector, Roon all integrated in a theater
That's an awesome basement/man cave. My only thought is - what does all that do to your electric bill? Hopefully the rates where you live aren't too bad.
@@andyhooten4344 Actually I don’t often turn on all the lights when I’m down there, more so when I have guests. Thanks for the compliment.
beautiful. That speaker coffee table is really neat.
How big is that basement! In the UK(and Ireland) we can only dream of having all that space. I’m sure it’s taken many an hour to get it looking like that. Well done and don’t drink too much. Ha
@@jim586 thanks. Definitely a labor of love inspired by my dad. Ireland/UK is on my bucket list, I’m Irish on my dad’s side.
@@gregbartley2475 Well, The UK and Ireland have become almost unrecognisable, rural Ireland, less so. Definitely have a European trip at least once in your life. Cheers
@@jim586 I can trace my dad’s family came from a rural area, want to say it’s in Cork? My daughter lived in the Netherlands for a while so I’ve been there in Germany, but would like to see more of it for sure.
In addition to the cost and planning of this room, the time commitment to detail within the room is nothing short of amazing. In comparison I am just getting started and the planning paralysis is overwhelming. keeping within a budget and planning for future expansion behind walls is daunting. Whether its a music room or full-blown theater, the lighting makes or breaks the feel of the room. Nicley done!!
@@bobr9605 thanks, I appreciate that. Wife and I had the house built, moved in 10 years ago. It’s hard to plan a space before you see it in person but I managed to figure it out. I watched a lot of videos like this one for inspiration, good luck with your space, try not to get overwhelmed.
@@gregbartley2475 Too late😳
N̈ice set up sir lot mord improved since the 1st video
@@musicman257 thanks
Well done, Nice collection and equipment, lots of really cool stuff ! saw you on HT GUYS , we have similar stories , I also had a flood and had a chance to redo my home theatre.
Pretty sweet, but whoa, looks like a nightmare to dust.
@@TrespassersWillBeShot fortunately it doesn’t need dusting often.
@@gregbartley2475 I just moved out of an apartment I was in for a bit over a year, I sweep, Swiffer, and vacuum every other week, I was floored with how much-hidden dust was everywhere, just makes me think about it now. Cheers to your man cave, wouldn't mind having a brew down there.
wow
This is super cool! Sorry about the flood, I am sure it was quite expensive to fix it back up but I would say everything worked out in the end!
@@Static_Thunder thank you. My wife put a rider on our insurance which really helped cover the cost.
Let’s us know what’s in ur RA rack!
Greg- question- what amplifier are you using for your center channel? Same as each of the 7Ts? Thank you
@@soniclink8960 No. Musical Fidelity M8-700 monoblocks on the 7T’s, Rotel RMB-1095 on the CC. I do now have the matching CC for the 7T’s.
@@gregbartley2475 ah okay- so the Rotel powers the center and your surrounds?
@@soniclink8960 4 of the surrounds, I have 2 sets of sides and rears. Also, 4 Atmos.
Anti - Japanese products because their bad quality sound 😡. Should choose famous product lines in South Korea such as Samsung or LG. 🙂 👍
a protractor lol that made me subscibe
lol, am I right?
Hey Greg, fellow N.E. Ohioan love your setup!
Thanks!
@@gregbartley2475 was just telling a friend from Dayton how much I miss Audio Craft downtown cleveland.
Loving those towers. Beautiful. I'm also digging where you put your rack. I wanted to do that with mine too.
Thanks, they sound even better than they look.
@@gregbartley2475 I already knew they would. Enjoy my friend!
As soon as I see the position of the stereos, this guy probably favours two channel music or at least enjoys a good sound stage. Yes, boundary interference from nearby walls can and does certainly stifle the sound stage. Even though I have dirac live, I, too, are not into chats or measurements. Prefer to use the things on the side of the head. Would've been nice to have a look around the back. Always love to see what kind of cables people are using. Just so one can imagine what kind of noise floor one is putting up with. Thanks for the walkthrough.
Two channel is my priority, I put a lot of effort into choosing and placing equipment. I’m very happy with the end result. The cabling is a work in progress, primarily Audioquest.
Dayum, if i had your money, I'd throw mine away! 😮
Nice job on the room, it looks great! Sounds like you and I have been doing this for about the same amount of time, I grew up around it because my dad and older brother were into it and I started building my own speakers in the mid 70's. We're both out done by my friend Brian however, he started about the age we did and he's now 94 and still into it. Looking forward to continued updates!
If I’m lucky enough to live that long I’ll still be at it! I’m sure you can say the same.
Love the setup. Looks super clean!
Thanks, I appreciate that
What made you go with the JBL SDP-55? I know it's had some bad press. Any issues thus far?
I know Anthem is probably the popular choice, can’t say exactly why I went with Jbl. Mine hasn’t had any issues in 3+ years.
@@gregbartley2475 I've had the JBL SDP-55 since release and it has been the most disappointing premium piece of gear I've ever owned. Between continuous firmware snags at release to random loss of audio, to a noisy, ungrounded XLR board, the list goes on and on. But when it plays nice, it has a beautiful sound.
@@billmisencik5234 I heard the early production models were problematic. That’s inexcusable. Mine has been fine.
Did you say what the component next to your music streamer is....the one with all the beautiful display...not sure what you call that display with all the lights...its just cool looking, lol....beautiful system and room.
I believe that is the streamer, Eversolo DMP-A6
@gregbartley2475 yes you're right.. That is beautiful...expensive but beautiful.
Streaming is never going to be as good as a CD for music. But nice room.

Great video. Well done!
Thank you.
Is that a pair of DCM Timeframe 600
400 I think
@@gregbartley2475 I still have my DCM 600s I bought back in 92...they still rock
@@frankkniseley9951I also have a pair of Klipsch kg4’s and ESS AMT-1c’s in another system. I love this stuff.
Wow very impressive set up , must sound and looks amazing ! 🤩
Thanks!
Hi what are the amps I didn’t catch the mono block model & brand ?
Musical Fidelity M8-700m
will the subs interfere with the rest of the sound because there’s so many of them and they are so powerful?
If I ran them without calibrating them or just turned up the volume, it definitely would. But they blend in well as they are set up. The bass is clean, powerful but well controlled.
Would love to hear Surrounded by Tipper on that system
Nice
Are they Kef TDM dipoles? Thanks
Yes
@@gregbartley2475 excellent, I take it it's a Kef tdm centre thx speaker... Also did I see a lovely m&k MX 350 sub? 😎🔊😂

Thats awesome man! Glad you bounced back from the flood. I've put in about 5k into living room home theater and at first my wife didnt understand. Now that we've been watching movies, she's all about it.
Beautiful man cave they sure used enough power outlets when they built your house that's a very good thing I see so many people not having enough so they have to do expensive rewiring
Yeah I had several extra outlets added. They had to install a secondary breaker box
Very nice love old school audio equipment and the home theater
Nice set up Greg came across your channel again what the Realistic speakers on the stand I collect some of the old Realistic stuff
You packed a lot stuff in this space. Not so overwhelming though
Yeah I’m definitely at my limit
Great, fun space! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience on the product. 🙌😎 I have been into this stuff since a young age as well, 11 years old. When you know, you know. 🔊📺🎶 Cheers!

Thanks!
awesome basement ...i got one sortof like that dont have the nice seats you have...really enjoyed thanks......
Awesome , great home theater. , Great front speaker you have and your monoblock for channel . Perfect balance with Hi Fi .
Nice!! With all the stuff u have in there I’d never leave.Awesome!!👍😊
AN EXCELLENT SET UP. MOST IMPORTANT THING BEING THAT IT MAKES YOU HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE. 👍
ENOUGH !!! Single layer of drywall ? Glass faced cabinets ? NO WALL TREATMENT !! Walls are white ???? Seriously ? You've never been to IMAX ? A long ways to go...............................
No offense but you might wanna get your eyes checked. Yes only single wear drywall. I do have treatments up the only part of the ceiling is white that is not near the screen at all so no reflection and where do you see glass face cabinets?
@@gregbartley2475 My eyes are fine. Go to IMAX. cheers.

Sweet setup!! The Bar area is a nice touch with all the Neon signs. What brand are your side surrounds & your Towers?!
Thanks, Aerial Acoustics
Sorry for the lip smacking, I don’t realize I’m doing it.
Is Jbl synthesis processor better than Trinnov altitude?
I don’t know as I’ve never seen or heard one
Love it! I have also wanted a home theatre since I was a teenager and finally got one. There's nothing like being able to relax at the end of a hard day's work with a good movie or music!
Bring down those side surrounds. Too high for an Atmos setup
I’ve taken care of it
Last question!!! Like some of the other guests asking about the JBL Synthesis SDP 55... I'm looking at the new as well.... I'm trying to decided between the JBL Synthesis SDP 58 and the Monolith HTP-1
I have no experience with the Monolith so can’t comment on it. I can say the 55 has exceeded my expectations
@@gregbartley2475 Understood! I'm leaning more towards the JBL because of it's similar features as the Trinnov....
