Rob you should try the Clever Dripper. Kind of a pour over but you get the immersion like a French press. Been my daily driver brewer for a few years. A lot easier to clean than a French press too.

Also, I am very excited about you folks launching a new stream that digs in and tries new Steam games because I'm someone who believes there have got to be good or great games that go undiscovered, and like everyone else, I just don't have the bandwidth to find them. On a side note, for anyone interested in horror games, especially those with a similar aesthetic to "Fear the Unknown: Dave Story," I highly recommend checking out the (superior, imo) Fears to Fathom series. They're well-made, bite-sized horror experiences that deliver a surprisingly good dose of chills with some unique plot twists and lots of tension. Can't recommend then enough!

@ chemex, it is a pour over that can make the volume of coffee i want in a thermos to take to work. For thermos work i don't want french press sediment in the thermos, so the chemex has become my daily driver with french press, moka pot, etc as weekend options, and i'll use an aeropress at my parents who don't have a dedicated water kettle.

tbh watching rob go down these candles line item journeys has had a net positive effect on my finances. the mouse stuff really got me off my ass about home cleanliness. now i think i'll quit caffeine.

I fell in love with espresso during the pandemic and there are some good affordable semi-auto machines (like the Casabrews and Breville) with milk frothers that can produce very good coffee for the money... Imo I had a more expensive superautomatic machine and it was great for about 5 years, but the semi-auto actually pulls a better shot with a little more effort

I don't think I even knew that's how Steam press accounts work. That's crazy to me, like you can add ANY game? I figured you'd have to coordinate with every publisher for every game to provide that service. I'm guessing Steam has some clause buried in their agreement that everyone has to click agree to before they can publish their game on the platform.

I was on Patrick's exact same wavelength with Eternal. 2016 was such a joy to play that being a few hours into Eternal and realizing exactly why it felt so much less enjoyable to me was an utter shock because on its surface it felt just as crunchy and satisfying. But the subtle shifts in resource management turned suggestions into demands, and gratification turned into constant skill checks. It just became so *prescriptive* which appealed to the hardcore enjoyers of the puzzle aspect but the anything-goes part of the carnage that felt missing became such a turn-off for me

I implore you Patrick. Reinstall Doom Eternal.

South of Midnight looks like such a budget PS2 action game. I bet it'll have it's fans but I doubt it'll be for me.

I dunno if you were looking to continue this series after Volgarr 2 but if you are, for your consideration, I'd suggest the 2021 Ghosts and Goblins Resurrection. Very much in the same spirit of super difficult, high pattern recognition, reflex testing side scroller. But a very high production value, pretty to look at and fun to play one 👍

Would love to see more Remap/Nextlander collabs in the future, and I would not blame them for one second if they gave up on this game. They're not enjoying playing it, I'm not enjoying watching it, and it's totally not their fault. This game is/was a mistake. It was made by assholes, and the first game was clearly lightning in a bottle. It's okay to let it go, although I don't suppose they will seeing as they're convinced they're near the end. The next game you co-stream doesn't even have to be a really hard game, could just find an excuse to hang out and experience something together. I really don't want this miserable game to kill the idea of them streaming together in the future, as I personally would be sad about that.
