    Try hanging the ribs the opposite way. So the larger ribs are at the bottom.

    That cooker is porcelain coated like old washing machines. Don’t chip it and it will last 50 years thats why it costs 600 bucks.

      Thank you. The smoker was seasoned already, this was around 6-7th cook. Previous cooks were around 4-7hours cook time for each. It's porcelain coated and cleanes easy

    Wouldn't it be better to put the thicker sides closer to the fire?

    • @romanianredneckbbq
      @romanianredneckbbq 4 дня назад

      From my experience using it I found that the part closer to the lid cooks faster due to the heat rising and building up at the top where the exhaust holse are ( the holes from the metal rods). The smoker is made to hold around 250F the whole time and it's being set by your zone elevation. With a full load of fuel it can go 10h plus at around 250F

    I just got a Oklahoma Joe's Bronco Smoker 20 inch that can hang (9) slabs at once like the Pit Barrel. Nice smoker you have but not enough accessories and bonuses like mine, and they're basically the same price as of today. Gonna put mine together come Spring.

    • @romanianredneckbbq
      @romanianredneckbbq 11 дней назад

      Awesome. I used to have an 18 bronco but sold it to make more room. I love the bronco more than the barrel I have now. Cooked one of the best briskets on a bronco last summer. Good luck

      @romanianredneckbbq I've been seeing that the Pit Barrel smokes some awesome ribs. That was my first pick for a while but the Bronco lured me in more, especially with the diffuser plate.

    • @romanianredneckbbq
      @romanianredneckbbq 11 дней назад

      @mitchellspencer9213 the deflector plate definitely is a game changer. But I think the pitbarrel is a rib machine or anything hot and fast. Can't go wrong with any of those. (Bought mine new for 199) Definitely can't beat that
