don't worry people, you can't go from 5th to reverse, it locks and you need to go into neutral and come back for it to open
Your. Projects look really good.
@@JessieLoz-e6p thank you!
My All Wheel Drive 2021 Ford EcoSport is only getting 21mpg city with 16' steel wheels and snow tires 😢. With the stock 17' Ecopia tires and wheels, it got up to 22.4mpg city. It's a 2.0 duratec engine with 6 speed automatic transmission running what's called a PTU that is always spinning a driveshaft to the rear differential. On the upside, MI snow doesn't even faze it. I guess it is around 3,400 lbs. Very heavy for a tiny Ford Fiesta based vehicle.
Since this is your first manual. Should do a video on how that came to be.
I would love to see hand calculated results. The mpg gage on my Kia Forte claims 34 mpg combined but the POS was actually getting 29 mpg.
now drive it, I DARE YOU
aww woman driving manual. So sweet 🥰
Me when I shift it into 6th
80% of new cars in Europe sold last year with a manual, numb nutz. If battery electric vehicles weren't selling so fast over there it would be in excess of 90%. 😎
Glad I got a manual sentra. Cheapest car I've ever filled up.
Bring back manual in all car range
The only thing better than a 5 speed, is a 6 speed.
My best friend in high school lost his life, while trying to teach his girlfriend how to drive his stick shift 66 Mustang. She was trying to make a left turn and stalled. On coming traffic T-boned the passenger side and my friend sadly lost his life.
Dang that’s tragic
To the people who want manual transmissions in the US. It isn't going to happen.. Even Europe is transitioning to automatic Transmissions
Congratulations on your journey into the world of manual transmissions. My wife and I both prefer to roll our own gears on cheap, durable cars. Our current manual is a 2006 Scion XA five speed. The 1.5 liter Toyota power plant in it ekes out almost 50 mpg if I drive it really nice and keep it around 55 mph and don't come across too many stop signs. It doesn't do to well on the freeway however. Revs way too high to be very efficient at 70 mph.
Same exact setup as the 94 Sentra I learned how to drive on. Standard old school Japanese 5 speed.
That's what I was thinking. I'll bet that transmission dated back to the mid to late 80s. I actually am strongly considering getting a 25 versa 5 speed 🤔 There's no way I'm touching any Nissan cvt and I like that the Versa still has: old fashioned parking brake, a regular key that goes into a regular ignition, no engine stop/start (another reason for a manual), no turbo or direct injection, doesn't have a huge screen sticking out of the dash, and even in very basic form, it still has more features than I'd use. I'm really glad to have a good air conditioner and heater, cruise control, and a good stereo ( with Bluetooth)..
Bullet proof manual. Always better than a CVT. Especially a Nissan CVT.
I’m thinking of getting a brand new versa manual transmission. Make cars manual again. 😂
I heard if you stall the engine acts weird after. Have you experienced that?
Yes I have heard of that and now that you mention it I do believe I have experienced it. I have stalled multiple times and overall it's been just fine. One time in particular the car seemed to struggle to get up to highway speeds. I don't remember if I stalled prior to that. It was a very noticeable change in power.
@@Equinessity Yes same thing some other RUclips video sayed. Thats the only reason why I've been hesitant to get a Versa. He says that there's a service bulletin on it but not a recall. Hopefully they do a recall in the future to fix it.
No engine should act "weird" after being stalled. It's 100% normal to occasionally stall a manual transmission car. Especially while learning. Four new drivers learned with my manual Civic. It's been stalled hundreds of times, literally. Engine is fine.
I get around 36/37 mpg with mixed driving on my 2024 Nissan Versa S Manual. I'm pretty sure I can get 40 to 42 if I did mostly hwy driving.
I'm a long time manual driver, although it's been 10 years since I had my last manual. I just got a Versa S manual last week. Have a little over 200 miles on it so far, about 1/4 city driving. My reported mileage is 43.2 MPG. GREAT!!!! This is, by the way, the easiest manual transmission I've ever driven. Very light clutch makes starting out from a stop virtually effort free. Congratulations on learning to drive a manual - becomes second nature and, eventually, you will not even think about it.
That's awesome! Best I've gotten is 42.8 but I'm sticking around 41.1mpg. I'm starting to autopilot shifting like you said now too, crazy!
@@Equinessity Today, I turned over 300 miles, the MPG is now reporting 43.5. Just take it easy when you take off from a stop. Gunning it and shooting off the line is what destroys the gas mileage. Accelerate at a moderate pace - no need to crawl away from a stop.
What seat covers do you have? And do they fit well? Just got a 2024, I work construction and need something!
On Amazon "FH Group Front Set Cloth Car Seat Cover for Bucket Seats, 1-Piece Seat Cover, Universal Fit, Airbag Compatible, SUV, Van Seat Covers, Mint". Yes I think they work well, they are staying on and looking good yet, they should with only 1 month of wear but you never know with some products. I would prefer if the head rest had a separate cover. Congrats on you new car!
I bet you're curious about what a stick shift looks like
An extra return spring, should be on the reverse fork. You should feel it.
😂😂🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing the most common shifter on the face of the planet😂😂😂
The fascinating thing isn't that it's a 5 speed manual transmission. The fascinating thing is that it's a brand new 5 speed manual transmission....in 2024. It's a throw-back. Also, this car is naturally aspirated and port-injected which is awesome as well. It's basically an 80s/90s economy car but still made in 2024
@@Doomzdayxx The only other car that is similar to this in 2024 is the Honda Civic Sport Hatchback with the K20C2 naturally aspirated and port injected as well but with a 6 speed manual. Almost 10K more than the Versa though. Too bad Honda will change the Engine on the Civic in 2025 to a direct injected K20C9 Atkinson cycle engine and make 8 hp less and also no Manual will be available for the sport in 2025.
@@abraham3981 Wow, didn't know about that! I looked them up, they're pretty nice looking. I love my '96 Civic DX 1.6, SOHC, non-v-tec. It's a little beater car and other than salt belt rust in some unfortunate areas, is solid as a rock, 28 years later!
It’s becoming less common.
@@jbmortensen Yes, it is as less common as the 2024 Versa S with the 5 Speed.
Theres a 58 chevy truck in my shop with a 3 speed on the column with 4 pedals plus E brake pedal. Far right pedal is the start button, manual choke on the dash
Lol anti theft most don't know how to drive with these my first 5 cars had similar
Well, this is informative. Good job.
Reverse lockout aren’t needed on 5 speed, only 6 speed.
Showing my noob-ness for sure! Thank you for the info. 🩶
@@Equinessity No worries! It’s because you could accidentally go into reverse when shifting to 1st on a 6 speed. Where as with a 5 speed the one way you’d do that is if you thought you were in 3rd but actually in 5th lol
These days, you can't be too certain. R-gear might mean "tuRbo" to some folks
I think I would eventually shift into '6'. gear out of habit and blow up the Transmission.

WHEN I FIRST STARTED THIS VIDEO I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE ANOTHER STORY ON MITCH MCCONNELL HAVING HIS STROKE
Lots of love to you! --a fellow Russie, Morla 🐢
Love him! ❤
I think your tortoise has Tourette’s
He’s sniffing the air but it sure is different!
Holi that turtle must be very tired after she been laying them, massive eggs are probably the size of an adult hand
Lol, yes, he’s very proud of those eggs! ;)
Maybe they dream in Russian.,🐢
What a sweet thought! 😊
That tongue is so cute!
I don't know why they do that. Other days, they are chomping at the bit.
Boy he has some long nails
They sure do have some long quicks. :/
Is that a Russian tortoise? If it is I have one of my own and her name is Sally! 🥰
He is a Russian tortoise! *Waves* to Sally. 😊
He is cute
Awww
Soooo peaceful!💜🐢💜
Expecting the slowest jump scare. (Was practicing my scared look. Didn't want to hurt his feelings)
😂 Does move their head in the second sleepy short.
PROTECT HIM 😭😭😭
Aww
And i love your turtle
Aww, thank you, I’ll let him know! 😊
I LOVE IT ,IT SOOO satisfying
It is isn’t it?! Glad I’m not the only one who thinks so!
Is it just me or do others also make the "omnomnom" sound in your head with each bite the tortoise takes? XD
It certainly makes me happy listening and watching, omnomnom is so fitting!
That marine aquarium & the fish look absolutely amazing! well done!😀👍
Thanks, Chicago Shedd Aquarium takes all the credit. Glad their great work came through on video though.
