One is a recommended serve. Who can eat just one? Aussies eat the whole sleeve in a sitting! Don’t hold it in your hands. Bite the corners, put Tim Tam between your teeth. Suck up the liquid. Throw your head back and slam the biscuit into your mouth. No mess. That’s where the slam comes from!

Weetbix are as ubiquitous as Vegemite at the Aussie breakfast table. It’s often one of the first foods babies eat here because you can make it soggy and it has no sugar or additives and then you keep eating them until you have adult money, buy othered cereals, realise how much you need Weetbix then eat Weetbix every day of your life. Same as Vegemite it’s for health reasons. ❤😂

yep Aussie here. The way you ate them was right. I add a little bit more milk but that is personal preference. With more milk it starts crunchy, then get soggy towards the end of the meal.. best of both worlds. ..Strawberries and banana usually give enough sweetness, but you can just add some sugar to the wet mix. You can also eat them with butter and vegemite (spread thinly) but have a drink ready, cause your mouth get very dry :).

Just watched and commented on another of your videos. I've been roadtripping up and down the east coast on and off for the last 30 years. Based in Far North Queensland, I spend a lot of time car camping and doing it as inexpensively as possible. In the other video I commented about gas stoves. In this one I want to mention, also from kmart, you can get a solar shower. from memory they're 10 to 15 bucks. you half fill it with cold water and add a pot of hot water and you have a nice warm shower. You can also fill it with cold water on a hot day and leave it in the sun for an hour, come back and you have to add more cold water so it's not too hot. They're really efficient. A hot shower at a free camp is a luxury you have to experience to understand the value of. Also the shower itself rolls up flat and takes almost no space or weight. Add a tarpaulin and some of those stretchy bungee cords to hang off the van and you could even set up a privacy screen to shower behind, or rig it up as an awning to keep the sun and rain off the side of the van. Also, I'm about to fly down to Sydney to pick up my 4x4, before doing a slow roll roadtrip home to north of Cairns, so I'll be overtaking you guys, no doubt. If you're interested maybe we could catch up for a coffee, share a site and talk about car camping as comfortably as possible on a small budget.

A gas camp stove will run you about $25 at K Mart (or Bunnings, Big W or Target,) $30 if you find a cheap pot to empty those cans of food into. 4 cans of butane gas is about $7. One can should heat up twenty meals. Squatting by a van eating cold canned food is feral when you could have a butane stove, a saucepan, some plates and a storage tub to pack it all up in for $40. ,But don't EVER use it inside the van, the base and sides of the stove get very hot and can make flammable things around them ignite. One last point, dysentery is not fun. A stove can boil water to clean your utensils as well as heat up food, antibacterial wipes are good for car camping to keep your hands sanitary. Dirty hands + cold food = bad. Happy travels!

I have grown up eating this and it's good to you tried it the correct way (with not too much). I would put a lot more butter and mix the Vegemite in. My dad would dunk his in his cup of tea too. Put tasty cheese on top and throw in the griller for something more special.

I crush up 3 or 4 add milk and sugar. Although they're advertised as no sugar, they taste very bland without it or at least fruit or honey. Used to eat them individually with butter and vegemite, nice but very dry.

There are lots of free camping and low cost camping options on wikicamps, though most are outside of the large urban centers, the real Aussie country. Get out of the cities and explore, you'll love it.

Awesome guys, gust found your channel and subscribed. Good on you for giving our Vegemite a try. It is somewhat an acquired taste for the savoury palate, but honestly is light years better the its closest equivalents Marmite and promite which are much sweeter and beefier in flavour. Vegemite and avocado is indeed very good.

They’re also great with hot milk and maple syrup or honey, and a bit of natural yogurt, and you can still have the soggy/crunchy mix if you keep the milk level low And if you want to give eating them dry a good go, then try with margarine and honey or fruit jam, or if you’re feeling fancy, a thin layer of cream jam. Like a healthier version of Devonshire Tea style scones So interesting you don’t like the honey here… specifics? Taste? Texture? I’m gluten free these days, but they do make a gluten free wheat-bix alternative (ironically wheat free of course)

It blows my mind that people from overseas don't like these.

Good job picking up on it being like soy sauce! It's in that savoury, salty, umami flavour family with soy, Worcestershire, oyster sauce etc. If people were expecting that sort of flavour I dont think they'd freak out so much. A very common pairing is (cheddar) cheese and Vegemite in sandwiches (bonus lingo: Aussie slang for a sandwich is sanga). I grew up with Vegemite and lettuce sangas, too. I also like to include Vegemite when having scrambled eggs on toast, as the saltiness seasons the eggs. **Chef's kiss**

You can also pour some boiling water over them before adding milk, for the ultra filling warm version, it's pretty different, like a Weetbix porridge?
