    Nice explanation, thanks! Some questions: 1. Do you need to cut out a biopsy sample in order to stain and scan it? Is there a way to scan a live sample (like in your mentioned example of scanning an athlete's muscle - you wouldn't want to just injure the athlete for the sake of the experiment, right ?) 2. How deep can you focus inside the tissue (with and without staining) ? Thanks!

      +Rob S Thanks for your interest! You can perform a quick Google search for "genetic testing for athletic performance" and find dozens of companies that will analyze specific gene variations to attempt to determine your individual limits of performance. I say "attempts to" because there are many confounding variables at play when trying to determine performance ability by looking at a few genes (although these genes do seem rather important).
