How much was the cost per click?
Can't remember exactly but I think somewhere between $6-12. That was a few years ago and it has probably gone up by now and will depend on the area/how competitive it is.

I wouldn't recommend it as it'd be repetitive. Just put it as a call asset.

Thank you for your advice. How about Pmax ads? There seems no good strategy to avoid job seekers on this.
You can add campaign-level negative keywords to Pmax ads but that won't solve the entire issue because sometimes people user consumer terms to search when they are actually job seekers. I would not recommend Pmax for lead gen unless you have alread maxed out your standard search campaigns.

No, call-only ads will be phased out very soon. If you have not already, be sure to have responsive search ads in every ad group and make sure the call-only ads you have include a final URL. Better yet, turn off the call-only ads and just use responsive search ads.

Do you know why when you try and cut/paste some sites from the website URL publisher to your exclusion list, The Microsoft system won't let you save? This is very frustrating as I cannot block all sites from my report I downloaded.
It might be a bug with MSFT Ads platform. Did you chat with support about it? Their platform is so buggy.
I used to run successful campaigns with phrase match. In the past year I had to switch back to broad, as I cannot get the clicks I used to. This has been disappointing as now I am exposed to lots of junk clicks limiting my effectiveness of my campaigns.
Exactly the same thoughts 🎉 I agree with you. I just wouldn’t use broad match with max clicks or manual CPC. As you said it’s good with smart bidding. Also I use phrase when the search volume is low for exact but am on a max clicks bid strategy.
There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach with match types but I'm glad you found a method that works for you!

Here's my experience, you can create up to 3 website exclusion lists with up to 10,000 websites per list. In total you'd be able to block up to 30,000 sites per account when it's all said and done. (Dec 2024)
Thanks for sharing. That's a lot of websites and a lot of work. Did you end up getting your list up to 30k sites? It's too bad they don't give the option to opt out it anymore.
I have only filled one list with 10K sites, my new approach with the new lists is to block up to 500 per month so I'd still have at least a few years before they actually do something about it.

Next to negative keywords, awareness channels are one of the best takeaways from this video. If they don't know who you are be prepared to bid for that absolute top position, it will get expensive. Awareness gives you a bit of position flexibility (as long as its still top positions). Great strategy layout Michelle!

Depends on several factors like how competitive the area is, how well your ads are set up, and how well your landing page converts. It really varies so I can’t really provide an average.
