2. Assemble pedestal with strut and straps and heavy conduit.
3. Measure 4-5ft off of the barndominium and measure holes for pedestal
4. Electrical meter can may only be 5-6 ft from ground level per electrical code.

My Homestead Barndominium Cost - Dirt to Metal Building Kit
True👍
You are soo cool👍
the Gov wonders why people can't build or buy a house.
That dress is smokin hot on you.
The fact you got your building supplies AND installed for 34k is an incredible deal WOW!!! 👏🏾 👏🏾 I just had a vendor do a 40x50 render w zero input from me and they came up w 45k, for delivery ONLY
It doesn’t look like you have any insulation in that barn dominium. Your energy bills are going to be enormous
You so cute talk😍and explained,
Florida really do bend its residents over with these ridiculous permit fees.
AGREED 100%
Those porches have an entirely too high ceiling
Yes they do. My husband was more concerned on cost than aesthetics or practicality. Our second barndo will have smaller porches.
And this is exactly why I am leaving Florida. It is getting as bad a California. You needed a driveway permit for a DIRT DRIVEWAY. I have property elsewhere And was talking to my neighbors there. The only thing they said I need to start my home on my property is a letter of intent. I will need a permit and design for a septic system if I decide to go that way. That's it they said build what you want.
Unfortunately the "American Dream" is more difficult in real life when they add all of the extra fees.
organized lawful extortion
Yes!!!!
And you can do it too!
Can I get one chicken please
I do not ship, must be able to pick up.
@@katieshoda-homesteadrealtor I am joking bro I love chicken
Try freedom rangers next time they are the bird that I switch to and I’m super happy with. They have a much better flavor and I received 33 chicks for an order of 30 and all three survived until butchering.
We might try those. How big were they?
@@katieshoda-homesteadrealtor at 10 weeks on a 22% protein grower they were 6 pounds butcher weight! They are a much healthier bird than a Cornish cross and the meat was developed for high-end restaurants in France. It’s a very high-quality meet but it might take you six months to order chicks. They are so popular. I think there’s only two or three hatchery here in the United States that has them because they have a patent from France on them.. good luck they are worth it once you try them you’ll never never go back to Cornish crosses! The hatchery out of Pennsylvania that I bought from was absolutely fantastic! they will give you feeding guides per weight and there really is no need to go past 10 weeks if you feed them high protein diet. They move around a little little bit better and don’t have the severe health problems that Cornish has, but I would imagine if you go past the 10 week mark you’ll start seeing some weakness in the legs. Mine really started to slow down with movement after about 9 1/2 weeks. You probably already know this, but you should leave your meat in a cooler on ice for 24 hours before you cut it up and package it or before you package it because Rigamortus has to do its thing otherwise you end up with a tougher byrd . If you do that everything on these birds are super tender, and the breasts were incredibly moist.. almost as moist as their thighs
I do plan on trying freedom rangers most likely next year!
The vegan teacher watching this be like:👁️👄👁️
Ain’t no lie 😂😂😂 They sure would be!
You got taken advantage of coming and going. I understand Florida screwing you they don't have much other industry besides real estate. But the plumbing contractor absolutely screw you over. Add your numbers don't really add up so I'm thinking there was a lot more of that. You could have bought a modular home this size with everything included 4 less than nest
I love how you say "Dozer" lol
My husband thinks it is cute too 😁
Thank you for sharing this
You bet
How did you save money… seems like you don’t bother to save any Money…
House move!! ruclips.net/video/KC9yY7Lk3vw/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Wow, they want $20,000 for the well in Colorado
Im in SWFL and your fees are directly tied to your county (robbery). Oddly enough property taxes are cheapest in key West. 9k for fill dirt...wow.
That was a great breakdown on your cost so far. Really well done!
So Glad it was helpful!
Whats a building permit? Lmfao
imagine living in a carport in a hurricane zone
1:33 😂
QUESTION: Do you have a video of your finished house? I’m looking at building a home and researching options. I like the color of your home, too. Thank you :)
Not yet! We’re paying as we go so it’s slow going. I wish we were rich and could just finish it. 😂
Nassau County, enough said
Good afternoon, I am looking to build and buy land in Hilliard or Callahan, do you have any advice that would help me on the way. I have never done this before, our last builder was easy but didnt do a great job so we are selling and starting a family compound
Why wouldn't you complain about the communist "impact fees?" If we don't complain, nothing will change and instead they will just get worse. Stop thinking like a slave and a loser.
I dont understand the well situation. Are u not able to connect to public?
Great question! There is no city water out here so we have to drill a well for water.
One of my favorite parts: The $16,635 in permit fees you just paid. Why? Because I live in a no-code, no-permits, and no-zoning law county in Georgia. So there were no "permits" and thus no fees for my 3200 sq.ft. barndo, with 1/2 mile driveway. One exception: A $150 STATE septic tank permit (well worth it, that guy gave me some good advice). My Florida friends brag about "no income tax" but I remind them that there is NO free lunch. As with other "no-income-tax" States, they'll get the money from you some other way, as you just demonstrated. Bonus for over-65 folks in GA (to keep us from fleeing to "Gawd's Waiting Room"): No State income tax on your first $65k of income.
There is always a trade off. We chose a county that had those permit fees. County over does not have those fees but we didn’t want to live in that county.
@@katieshoda-homesteadrealtor I've been writing a book about HOAs and have a section on how counties practice "First-ism." What's that? Those who settle a place first get to crap on those who come along later. Example: Institute county-wide road taxes (sure, to build and maintain county roads) but then pass a zoning ordinance requiring that all new subdivisions be HOA-governed communities AND own their own subdivision streets and drainage systems. The HOA then collects enough dues to pay for street/drainage maintenance. In that way, those who later move into the county wind up in the HOA communities and thus pay not only county road taxes but also (through their HOA dues) the cost of their "private" roads (a form of double-taxation). This is "marketed" to them by reminding them that they can gate their neighborhood -- but plenty do not because gating costs big bucks up front and, cumulatively, over time (mechanical maintenance, labor costs if one uses live guards) -- and it's a time-wasting nuisance just to get into and out of your neighborhood. I'd be curious if the "First-ers" in your county paid anywhere near the fees that you've had to pay. It wouldn't surprise me if they have not and simply decided to in effect super-tax those who've come along "second." There's actually case law invalidating unequal treatment by local governments, but those cases have turned on race discrimination. "First-ism" would be a new "-ism" to be rolled into a viable legal theory by gutsy-creative plaintiff's lawyers.
well this is in danger of hurricane .
We live in Florida. Technically everything is in danger of a hurricane.
Im i the only one sick and tired of the word “barndominum”. Please stop .
You can stop watching the videos on Barndos and youtube will stop throwing them at you.
Thanks! Best Barndo cost video. I’m planning to build in north Florida as well, wondering what company did you use for the foundation? Thanks.
i need a calculator
Your phone should have one 🤷🏼♀️
One of the reasons I left Florida, high everything.
Best barndo breakdown i have seen. What company did you purchase the building through?
So, what company includes the installation with their posted pricing? Thx
Awesome video! What building company did you use?
Did your FL county require the conduit even at 30”? I just ran direct buried cable in a sand bed at 30” to include the caution tape.
Im not 100% sure but im pretty sure it has to be in conduit. My husband always uses conduit for something this large and important. The only thing he uses direct bury for is smaller circuits. Good Luck
Ouch! I’m scared to find out what my septic will be since I’m within a springs zone.
Oh wow I am interested in what your county dictates for that! Let me know!
in Florida you need a permit for driveway In Missouri I only have to get one building permit 1800 16000 it is way too much LOL
Super informative!
Thank you! Glad you think so!
How is this the real cost? Most of the costs are interior finishing.
Because this is the real cost of the structure itself whereas interior pricing can vary depending on pure personality
Never heard of an impact fee. Are you fucking kidding me!? 15k fuck that. No way in hell I'd live in that state.
It is no fun.
I'm just baffled at what people accept, and comply to now. Plenty of states that don't blatantly steal thousands from you to have a home on land you own, and pay taxes on. When do we stand together, and say enough?
Hi thanks for the video. where did you buy the barndominium?
And yet ppl still think we are “free” lol
NICE! SO IM GUESSING A DRYWALL INTERRIOR, THERE ARE HARDBOARD OPTIONS, ALSO SKINNY SUBFLOOR, SAVES THE LEGS!
Thank you for this breakdown! Very helpful! That's really not a bad price for such a lovely and big barndo and you're in Florida! Gotta pay to play! Born and raised here in Florida! Never leaving. Thanks again for the info! We have a block home we are selling which is on the outskirts of Tampa Bay and moving closer to Ocala. We're trying to decide on whether to buy a manufactured home and a separate steel building for my husband's work shop or to do a barndo. May do the barndo after seeing this. THanks chickie! Best wishes to you and your beautiful family.
I LOVE chickens, farm animals, country life!! Your chickens are beautiful, I grew up on a farm, it is the best!! Pure happiness, animals are God's creatures 💚
Absolutely! 100% agree!
