Bob Alexander - Mirage Jam 1986
Просмотров 5628 дней назад
In 1986 keyboardist and lifelong friend Brian W. Anderson purchased an Ensoniq Mirage DSK-1 Digital Sampling Keyboard. It greatly improved the overall sound of our little band Mercury. Brian offered to loan me his new equipment one weekend, and I jumped at the chance. This is what I came up with. Recorded at home on my Fostex X-15 4-track cassette deck in 1986. Thanks, Brian.

Haven't had a decent microphone for quite some time. I finally sprung for one. A Shure SM58 Special Black Edition. I broke it in by destroying The Beatles Michelle. Sorry, Paul, it's the best I could do. I recorded it on my PC using a leftover MIDI file from my Midi Gig days.

When Robby was very young we bought him a Fisher Price Play Tape Recorder. He made this tape alone in his room. Pictures of him around this time frame are from our photo archives.

I still have my Fostex X-15 and use it daily for all my cassette needs. It is a portable, battery/mains operated four-track cassette recorder and mixer - with the emphasis definitely on 'portable': for the complete unit measures only 3"(H) x 11½"(W) x 9"(D) and weighs in at under 6½lbs including the battery pack. Dolby C was built into the machine to overcome the technical limitations due to th...

An original tune recorded at home on my PC using a MIDI controller and Cakewalk DAW. I play all the parts using software synthesizers. I sing all vocals.
Brian W. Anderson - Brian's Jazz Experience

Brian's recording was made at his recording studio MIRAGE, in the early 2000's. He plays all synthesized parts on a keyboard. I downloaded this from his recording studio's no longer available website.

Very cool!
That would make a great theme song for a TV show. You should write for TV, and movies!
Got recommended this. Thanks RUclips algorithm! Fantastic
2 great slabs of classic power pop. Saved.
Nice. Very 1960’s. Improve it with a real drummer, and more dynamics, more drama.
You are an unknown musical genius Bob!
Dear Lord.. You are too kind. Thank-you
Rockin' song! Seeing the X-15 brings back some great memories. It sure did a nice job on the songs!
so cool!
What a well written song!❤
Yes we could. Nice song!
The CANADIAN issue of this album was on Capitol Records. The rest of the cover ( front and back) is unchanged so unsuspecting fans thought they were getting a Beatles album when they saw Beatles and Capitol logo

Always love "Economides" name 😄
Cool song!
thanks my friend.
after Dec 1;st 1963 the world would never be the same.
Aghhhhh My EARS!!!
It was tragic when John got in trouble for the "bigger than God" thing and people burned all the Beatle stuff. But I don't think I would have wept if I had seen this record on fire.
There was a lot of songs about the Beatles around that time
Good god . I never heard of it . I can’t find anything when I google either . Were they Americans?
I never knew about this. That was great thanks 4 sharing 😁✌️
RIP Grandpa!! ❤
I love this 😍♥️
Love this song
Love the lyrics. I love the dark humor.
I love the fuzzy guitar. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

If you guys had a studio back then that would have been a nice song..Done properly. I can hear it in my head & I like it..Peace
Kick it boys..Sounds good..On any given night a garage band can the best band in the world..That's where the magic happens & there's no better feeling than when everybody's in the pocket..Musics a gift from above, yea, ..Gotta find that pocket LOL.x
Fun - there must be a story behind "Big Beacon"...
that was the name of our band's giant equipment bread truck. The name of our band at the time was Beacon Drive named after the street the first drummer lived on. So, Big Beacon
@@rutlesoboogie whoa that was by my house. Who was the drummer?
@@garyleek PAT DOUGHERTY (sp?)
Really like this music!!! Would like to hear all of the recordings from this group!!
all the sessions are saved as playlists on my RUclips page

Beautiful song! Beautiful family! Very well done sir...
Thanks
Great song.
Really like this. Takes me back to early elementary school (Lincoln on N. Main St) and Belvidere High School. We moved so often that I don't really have a home town, but in my mind it is Belvidere and Boone Co.
