I have been venturing down the path of mixing loops. Lately I have been using longer loops where I am using headphones and counting and then dropping on the one. I am challenging myself to create shorter loops with different records. This one is about a 1/2 rotation. Pitched to 100bpm about a 2 count. I am trying to observe the body mechanics as well as my hand speed timing and accuracy. I also don't want to be a robot I want to be able to feel it and make my body move with it. I heard Rob Swift refer to it as meditation and that's a great way of putting it and who the hell can't use a little meditation. I'm gonna add that to my education for the week and continue to try to improve.
