Quit over a year ago, couldn't be happier about my decision.

I had 2 ounces of liquor and it took me 10 days to recover, emotionally. My sleep was really messed up during that time period.

early in this video, you mention "bliss". I am wondering if at some point in the future, you could talk on bliss, and help me understand what it is, what it looks like, and how it shows up in the jiva existence. At this point, I do not understand how bliss is compatible with anything finite. Thanks.

Payton, I deeply appreciate you as a human being and a therapist. Existence is confusing and difficult to navigate. Being open, or needing, TRUTH adds additional levels of complexity. Early in your video, you suggest that what is "Truth" is essentially the same as what is "Real", but that has not been my experience that these are the same. My reality at any given moment is typically different from what I might arrive at as "Truth". You say that differentiating what is "real" from what is "unreal" is a highest value. What is typically "real" for me is not so much always in alignment with what is "Truth". It has not been difficult for me to accept what I recognize as "Truth" once I see it, the "seeing" it is what has been difficult. You say " we find it hard to accept things about us because we don't want to accept the Truth", but that is not my experience. I WANT the truth, but I just don't know what it IS; (until I see it). You seem to be saying that my feelings are "true", while my ego is standing in the way, and I am beholden to my belief structures. My experience tends to make me think that my feelings support my belief structures, or at least, I tend to misconstrue them in that way. My experience leads me to think that until I understand in my mind how my belief structure is faulty, nothing is going to change. I typically am unable to accept where I am at until I can see it in my understanding, and if I am out of integrity because of a lack of understanding, it seems that self-judgement is appropriate until I gain that understanding. Understanding comes to a more truthful awareness of what IS, and then I am able to place myself in that paradigm. I have been unable or unwilling to let go of self judgement until in my understanding, I realized what was True (or MORE True) and how I was "missing the mark". It seems to me, that if I let go of self judgement before there is understanding of where the judgement comes from, I am not going to make progress towards what is "True". Maybe this is a difference between a Janni and a Bhakti???????. Lotsa love and gratitude for you.

excellent approach, and well said. I recently heard a similar idea brought by using a metaphor of Russian nesting dolls....the outermost doll being our social facade, and the innermost doll being our essence.
