Crunchy Rocks Ride - Trek Slash Gen 6
I’m always messing with my stem stack height trying to find what feels best and gives me the most control/front wheel grip. After changing to PNW’s new Loam Carbon 38mm rise bars and new Loam 32mm stem, I figured I should try out a couple different stack heights again to see what feels best. I thought with the shorter stem and higher bars I would need to go lower with the stack height, but I was surprised that the higher stack height felt better, even on relatively flat trails. I can imagine it would only feel better on steeper, more high speed, trails. I’ll be running it higher for a while to see how I like it.

Big thanks to my buddy Garret who came back from the PNW and was just as stoked to work on each feature with me! We left a few features to come back and conquer for the next time!

I will probably try out the lenses for a little longer and I like the 24 FPS at the moment after testing. The footage seems to look a little faster and more how it feels while riding.

    I've been watching your videos, do you think the Trek Slash Gen 6 is a good option for doing enduro races? Do you feel the weight a lot? Is it agile? Climbs well ?

    • @BeachModeBiking
      @BeachModeBiking 13 дней назад

      @@lourencovalezim6218 I mean it was the bike that Hattie Harnden, Trek’s pro enduro racer, just won the Enduro World Cup series on. It depends on what kind of trails your enduro trails are and what you want to prioritize. If you want to prioritize going fast through the tough, chunky, steep sections of the trail and to feel stable in super fast sections, the slash is perfect for that. It does pedal well for a big bike, the anti-squat helps with the pedaling, and I feel it is a surprisingly agile bike for how big it is. It does have a longer wheel base so some of the tight corners aren’t quite as fast, but that is what all bikes compromise with being better at high speed and good through the rough steep chunk. Hopefully, that helps and gives my perspective on some of those questions.

      It is the fork that came on the bike, I brought it to someone that works on suspension to have it serviced and have them change the air shaft to 160mm. You just have to purchase the new air shaft. Most forks can fit a couple different sized air shafts in them.
