    Hi. Im curious about the culture of US lawschools. Do the law professors lecture? What i mean is if the assignment is chapters 1 to 3 for the next meeting, will the professor lecture/discuss these topics or will the professor just ask questions without explaining or giving any lecture? Basically, it's the students who do most of the talking.

    • @americapeoples6978
      @americapeoples6978 6 месяцев назад

      I'd say it's a mix. It really depends on the professor. Some like to lecture while others cold call to get the discussion going.

      @@judithdials1200 My journey started in the pandemic and continues until at least 2026. With kids, career and unexpected life events, law school continues to be a challenge that requires consistency in studying. It’s unreasonable to strive for balance in all areas of your life while in school. You’ll often feel guilty when studying because your kids and job also need you. When you’re attending to your kids and job you’ll feel guilty that you’re not studying. However, so far it appears to be worth it because law school really does shift how you analyze and see the world. Some say it makes you smarter. Good luck to you on your law school journey! ❤

    Hi there, thank you for sharing this journey. I’m a 37 yr old single mom my kids are 18 and 12 so they’re older. I’m a teacher but I’m thinking about law school… how do you think a single mom would do with this at my age working full time as a teacher. Is it possible?

    • @americapeoples6978
      @americapeoples6978 Год назад

      Hi Laura! I do have classmates that are single parents so it can be done, but it takes a lot of discipline in your schedule. You simply cannot afford to be disorganized or lacking in time management. Older kids likely works in your favor, depending on their level of independence. A part-time program is not really part-time for a working parent. I would take a serious look at your schedule (BEFORE you enroll) and see if it's possible to carve out time for studying. The required study time will depend on the number of classes you take. Even two classes at a time is challenging (but I'm also a slow reader and maybe you are faster!) How do you spend your evenings and weekends now? Are there any activities you aren't willing to sacrifice? It's all going to depend on your specific situation. Good luck to you... whatever you decide.

      My law professors are excellent. I think they are more respectful and humble, especially since a lot of the students in my class are professional adults. They are never on some kind of ego trip.
