Even if it does not fall, if it moves just a tiny milimeter, it would ruin the experience. Are you sure it does not move at all when you have the headset in vertical? this just looks pretty dodgy, unless the phone is pressed really hard against the headset on the hanging thing which im not sure that is good for the phone. Also: Does it come with a QR code for Google Cardboard setup?

The hp victus rarely reaches the advertised speed due to lack of cooling on the ssd, but the tuf does reach advertised speed (not always though) so I think it's basically equal also you can add your own ssd to the laptop as there is an extra slot for m.2 ssd, you can put extremely fast ssds there, not sure if the hp victus has this option
