I'm researching some lesser known SNK titles (like rage of the dragons) saw a trailer for the EX-arcadia version of ROTD and I assumed it was a JP only released, had no idea it was for a completely secular arcade style cartridge!

So the MG that comes with the full package is a program called Muscle Gear, which allows for all kinds of fun things. Survival modes, custom arcade runs, tournaments including bracket, round robin and team survival(all three being actual tournament styles used in the series!), and the ability to set up matches without the roster restrictions as when you select characters, you select portraits on a grid rather than cycling. This also enables things like testing stuff at 1/2/3 bars, unlimited meter, and CPU vs CPU! It's really robust. If modes aren't "unlocked" for you, you gotta get the highest score on each Survival difficulty to unlock each tournament style. Edit: OF NOTE! How each character is grouped and ordered is important... kind of! It can reference the arc they're from, their faction, even kinda what version you're playing with. Some like Kinnikuman have Kinnikuman and Kinniku Suguru which are two distinct fighting styles based on most of the series(and movies) and the Scramble for the Throne, the final arc where his burning inner strength was sealed away.

This year I decided to pass on doing another trailer for Battle Craze since the team was heavily occupied in applying the last touches and reworks to its 'definitive' patch coming out really soon, I'm disappointed to hear that EVO silently passed on the Indie Showcase this time around. Sucks that devs have to do most of the self-promotion themselves with very sparse helping hands out there from larger scenes but what can one do? :0/

I concede that it is premature given the NDAs, so I'll try to remain a bit hopeful as it enables devs to eventually make future works but still can't help going Dr. Doom over Vanguard Princess R and these other titles at the same time. I respect how this enables the artists in some obvious and non-obvious ways, but as someone who doesn't live anywhere remotely near one of these machines - I should not need to go to a Discord to find out if London won the lottery and somewhere an hour away MIGHT have a new game assuming the machine isn't under maintenance... It kinda sucks as a consumer in the short term unless they happen to have the resources to create an arcade environment. In the long term, people will find a way to distribute it even if and it is at least distributed worldwide (Eng/JPN) officially so it isn't in the Gundam Vs space where we're begging Bamco for a port that's outdated by two releases.

This gives me Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale vibes with the win condition and I'm saying that as a PASBR fan. Also coin battle in Smash. I like the potential angle of each character having their own ingredients, maybe it could even expand to different dishes.

This is awesome! I love love love seeing new ideas get presented through the framework of well established genres, and fighting games are perfect for this more than anything else. Having competition between players is such a simple concept that can be expanded in an infinite amount of directions, and this is proof of that! Hope it goes well for the devs!

How popular can 2xko be when it comes out? Maybe people prefer to play it rather than the toxic LoL

I played the demo for this having played plat fighters for the better part of two decades, the controls feel right at home and the gameplay reminds me of if they took Yoshi Island and turned it into Subspace Emissary (or Kirby Super Star)

I just played the update on exA-Arcadia it was so fun! Now I'm sad I won't be able to play it again for a long time. I was trying to find the english version of the game but the Playism site doesn't sell it anymore :(

I think the best way to handle it is like what platform fighters do, with singles and doubles both being run. I feel like doing a mix would be interesting, but I can see it getting confusing, and being a bit of a mess to handle. Not only that, but I don't see duo and solo play being balanced. If a team is entering a tournament, they're likely going to be a team with good synergy and teamwork, and having 2 brains to work with instead of one seems like a big advantage to me.

I think if Riot makes 2 separate brackets for 1v1 and 2v2 at 2XKO tournaments, that would be really cool. When Multiversus was at EVO, it was exciting to cheer for a team.

I think they will allow it. But I think solo will always be stronger unless there is duo specific mix/tech. I think the hardest part of duo play is when to call neutral assists. Set play and combos can also be done fine just neutral would be awkward
