Fujikura CT-50 connection to splice++ app fix
Sometime there is a connection that will not allow the app to connect to the ct-50. Go into settings on phone, Bluetooth forgot connected cleaver and re-connect through app.

I use the same otdr but when you use the 1 click to clean the SC connector before plugging it into the otdr are you meant to 1 click the otdr aswell

I’m sorry I don’t understand your question? But, when I mention strip, clean and cleave, I’m referring to the removal of the outer most jacket of the fiber and a thin layer of cladding. This allows for the arc to fuse the glass.

We figured out static was causing the cleaves to end up everywhere EXCEPT the cleave bin, so we first tried grounding the CT-50, then ESD straps, then I got the idea for anti-static spray. Tried it today and it worked like a charm. I just cover the moving parts and spray a light coat on everything.

fujikura 38s diagnostic test
It is not cladding that you are removing, but rather coating. Cladding is intrinsic to the makeup of the fiber itself, whereas the coating is an added protective layer that must be removed.
Technically yes you are correct. It’s is coating, cladding and then core. Most people in the industry call it cladding. Thank you for pointing that out.
You do not strip off the cladding. The cladding Is the glass. You are stripping off the acrylic 250um coating...exposing the 125um cladding.

On the cleaver, you will get roughly 2500 cleaves per position on the cleaver blade. Once you’ve hit that number, you’ll need to rotate it. Email me at brandon@tsrcomsupply.com and I will explain in more detail.

You don't strip off excess cladding. That's the coating.
Exactly you have to have good strippers, and learn to know how much to take off. Most strippers out of the box are dialed in but you have to maintain them and clean them. The cladding is very important in keeping the light within the glass. Great comment Aaron

Brandon, I have a some questions about fine tune adjusting the cleaver wheel after replacement. It seems to only cleave well in the top position. I replaced it on one and in the lowest setting. Are there any other fine adjustments?

Does the 41S come with the Fuse Connect adapter?
It comes with the SP-01 set plates that hold the ALF/Fujikura fuse connectors
I was thinking you had to buy that kit for $400 if you wanted to use the Fuse Connects.

where to find software?
You can download the free app on the iOS App Store and google play store. It’s called splice+ , once downloaded open it, connect your cleaver to your phone and then you can control, update and view your ct-50’s status.
You ever ran into a problem while splicing that’s showed a ZR Motor Overrun and how to resolve the issue?
Hi Matt, there could a few things causing that error. What fiber are you using and what holders? E.g. 250um or 200um or both?
I have seen that error when there is not enough slack on the fiber. Make sure there is enough slack on the fibers and that they are not getting stuck on the dust covers.
