I wouldn't say that. It's no problem opening the seat even if you got the backrest cushion mounted on the box with my configuration.

The box is not prepared for light installation as far as I can see. If you're handy, I guess it's possible 🙂

Hi! No drilling is necessary. I have mounted the backrest after I posted the video. It's really easy to install. Yes, the base plate comes with the box.

@@tropheuz I have driven it for three years now, and it hasn't been necessary to tighten on nuts. I have used o and a dab of blue loctite.

It's a while since I checked the timing, but I think it was 18° BTDC.

There is no need for drilling. The only thing you need is longer bolts than those that come with the box. I hope it works out for you.

I think 6mm will do. As for the Ram mount, it's a 9mm with a 1” ball. Good luck.

I haven't tried to mount a Givi case om mye scooter, so I can't help you there. I hope you find a solution.

Yes, you can attach it to the BMW luggage carrier. That's what I have done.

Yes, it happens to me too. It was like that since new. I find that if I lift the cover by holding one hand in the center between the lid hinges and lift it up it up with determination and some force, it will align on both sides. That works for me anyway. That is actually the only thing that annoys me with this box. Good luck!

You can put them on any way you like. They they will work individually. But of the three parts, the Smart Boost is the one to get. I had problems with the SIP speedometer with the spark magnifier and PiFi, so I took them of. Didn't make any notably difference anyway.

Yes, they did. There was bolts too, but they are to short for this setup.

The difference is that the sh59 has an aluminium lid cover. Otherwise it's the same. In my opinion it doesn't look too big. I rather think it suits the scooter. I'm really happy with it and highly recommend it.

Ole M Worren thanK you for kind reply. I’m in Australia and this is the worst place to buy things for bmw scooter cuz there’s only few c400 scooter so they don’t import the fitting rack. Takes about several month to order. I might just buy the shad fitting rack from China and have it ship to Australia maybe a lit bit more on the delivery cost. One more question when u install the bmw rack did u remove the storage from inside I tried the other day unscrewed some star screws but can’t take it out. But You can take the handle bar out when the storage is loose. Sry for my poor English

I'm very happy with this top case. I'm impressed with the capacity and how well it suits the scooter. I bought the black top colour just because it matches my scooter colour very well. The Shad SH58X came with carbon top colour, and I think that would work with any of BMW C400 colours for most people.

Yes, I'm very happy with the scooter. No serious issues so far. To bad winter is coming her in Norway. The season is all to short.

On a flat road with no wind I can get about 120 km/h on my SIP speedo. That is with original gearing. With the slightest headwind or incline I'll loose the speed rapidly and I'm nowhere near that kind of speeds. Regarding jetting, I honestly don't remember right now what I'm using. I thing I have a 140 main jet. The scooter is in winter storage right now, but the carburettor is in need of a overhaul shortly. I will post the jet numbers here when it's done.

I just did a overhaul on my SI 24/24E carburettor. My jet sizes are: idle jet 55/160, main jet 140, mixer jet (air corrector/atomizer) BE3, choke jet 60.
