This was so much fun! to watch! Growing up with Sue Heck makes this feel like reconnecting with an old friend. Obviously she is not the exact same person as the character she played, but I feel like they share a optimism and zest for life.

Loved this video, I'm a huge fan of Josh. He's so kind and generous. He was even nice enough to send me an autographed picture to me last year which currently hangs above my bed. I've also taken his advice on doing something creative everyday. I may not be an actor, but I want to be an author one day. Now, I'm halfway finished writing the rough copy of my book, and I feel so accomplished. Thank you Josh for being the best person you could be, I love you ❤❤❤❤❤

I loved this interview of Chris. I loved hearing his story and everything not just Glee. Chris is a huge influence to so many because he has done so much. Also, I wasn’t aware of all of the awards and nominations Chris has received. Of course I was aware of his winning Golden Globe but the list just kept growing as you introduced Chris. Bravo on a great interview as this was the first interview that I learned more about Chris and not just a repeat of what’s already popular.

You had some excellent choices for your dream cast. Here are my choices: M'Lynn: Viola Davis (seems like an obvious choice), Ouiser: Octavia Spencer, Clairee: Angela Bassett, Shelby: Yara Shahidi, Truvy: Tyra Banks (imagine her in a fabulous wig and some over the top clothing!), Annelle: Halle Bailey.

EDITORS NOTE: Thank you to viewer @jamesplatt4555 who pointed out I have the WRONG cast for the 1987 off broadway play run. I've listed the 2005 revival. The original off broadway cast was BETSY AIDEM (Shelby), Character actor Queen MARGO MARTINDALE (Truvy), MARY FOGARTY (Ouiser), ROSEMARY PRINZ (M'Lynn), OITNB'S CONSTANCE SHULMAN (Annelle), KATE WILKINSON (Clairee). gcw

How in the world are you going to applaud the diversity of today’s Hollywood and then propose yet another single race cast? While the picks aren’t necessarily bad (though some I really don’t care for) , this casting seems very hypocritical.

Yeah I get what you're saying. It seems to me though that since STEEL MAGNOLIAS centers around women who all go to the same hair salon, it makes sense to make them all Black if any of them are going to be of African-American descent.

You have a number of your facts wrong in relation to the original play, which the 1989 film was based on. First, the play was originally produced off-off-broadway at the WPA in New York. After its run there, it re-opened off-broadway at the Lucille Lortel theater where it ran for over 2 years before closing. The pictures and cast members you display in the video as being part of this production is completely incorrect. None of the actresses you name and display in photos were a part of this production, but instead, were a part of the short lived 2005 revival, on Broadway. This marked the first time the play was produced on Broadway and it was not a hit, lasting only a few months.

    • @g.charleswright9041

The beauty of this is we could cast this movie a bunch of different ways just with Black American actresses alone! I liked the idea of reuniting Whoopi and Oprah as frenemies. I think that stunt is interesting enough to make even Angela Bassett want to see that movie. But yeah, Alfre Woodard and Angela Bassett would be a good team up for Ouiser and Clairee!
