I like to examine character archetypes through fantasy recasting classic TV series with contemporary performers. Many of whom you probably don’t associate with these archetypes because of media and social bias. From television casting director G. Charles Wright.
❤ CHRISTOPHER PAUL COLFER
I think your awesome ❤🤩
Love him ❤
I loved her not just as Sue Heck, but also as Star Butterfly!
Have enjoyed watching his rise, since drag race. He's talented, down to earth & so funny 🤗🤣😝
She’s such a sweetheart, loved “The Middle!!!!! “
This was so much fun! to watch! Growing up with Sue Heck makes this feel like reconnecting with an old friend. Obviously she is not the exact same person as the character she played, but I feel like they share a optimism and zest for life.
He looks like Truman Capote in his later years
stan willam. since back in 2010.
The more I learn about Willam, the more I love him, and the voice, OMG. His "can't be bothered" deadpan delivery gets me every time. "Oh yeah, and I killed a Nazi with a shovel." 😂
Thank you! This was Awesome 😊
In drag Willam can be prickly, but in this interview I really really learned that I like him a lot. He's a really good person. Give him a big role in a TV show, movie, or play ASAP.
That picture of Willam and Warner hits me. RIP Warner!
This b looks bad
Real special 😊
....and a terrible voice, terrible actor....
Like the live aid shirt❤
Loved this video, I'm a huge fan of Josh. He's so kind and generous. He was even nice enough to send me an autographed picture to me last year which currently hangs above my bed. I've also taken his advice on doing something creative everyday. I may not be an actor, but I want to be an author one day. Now, I'm halfway finished writing the rough copy of my book, and I feel so accomplished. Thank you Josh for being the best person you could be, I love you ❤❤❤❤❤
I loved this interview of Chris. I loved hearing his story and everything not just Glee. Chris is a huge influence to so many because he has done so much. Also, I wasn’t aware of all of the awards and nominations Chris has received. Of course I was aware of his winning Golden Globe but the list just kept growing as you introduced Chris. Bravo on a great interview as this was the first interview that I learned more about Chris and not just a repeat of what’s already popular.
Delightful interview. I wish you lots of success on your one woman show 🎉
I was so sad when the spin off didn’t picked up 😢 Lovely Interview:)
She's just a genius and an absolute sweetheart; was able to meet her the other night and was taken aback by both her level of talent and the kind of person she is.
Willam is very smart. Love their work
I love his personality better when he’s not dressed as a woman
Everything is business with this guy.
love everything about this.. did not want it to end
Thank you, William, for all the joy you've brought me. You are indeed a legend.
Still the most gangster Ru girl 🥰
What episode of My Name Is Earl?
pilot gay bar scene
God bless William Belli
Thats how i feel, always hustling to make ends meet. Its tough, for me anyway.
Oh my! She looks like she popped out of a dumpster. Has she been eating garbage?
i have no makeup on and rosacea. sorry you’re not pleased
You had some excellent choices for your dream cast. Here are my choices: M'Lynn: Viola Davis (seems like an obvious choice), Ouiser: Octavia Spencer, Clairee: Angela Bassett, Shelby: Yara Shahidi, Truvy: Tyra Banks (imagine her in a fabulous wig and some over the top clothing!), Annelle: Halle Bailey.
EDITORS NOTE: Thank you to viewer @jamesplatt4555 who pointed out I have the WRONG cast for the 1987 off broadway play run. I've listed the 2005 revival. The original off broadway cast was BETSY AIDEM (Shelby), Character actor Queen MARGO MARTINDALE (Truvy), MARY FOGARTY (Ouiser), ROSEMARY PRINZ (M'Lynn), OITNB'S CONSTANCE SHULMAN (Annelle), KATE WILKINSON (Clairee). gcw
How in the world are you going to applaud the diversity of today’s Hollywood and then propose yet another single race cast? While the picks aren’t necessarily bad (though some I really don’t care for) , this casting seems very hypocritical.
Yeah I get what you're saying. It seems to me though that since STEEL MAGNOLIAS centers around women who all go to the same hair salon, it makes sense to make them all Black if any of them are going to be of African-American descent.
I was actually going to watch this but I cldnt get thro his babble about replacing characters just for the sake of diversity...
Oh good! Please don't come back.
@g.charleswright9041 trust me I wont.... its people like u who continue with racism... people like u who judge people by color, not talent, personality, morals or anything else... people like ONLY see the color of someone's skin... I'm good don't worry I will not watch any of your racist videos...
You have a number of your facts wrong in relation to the original play, which the 1989 film was based on. First, the play was originally produced off-off-broadway at the WPA in New York. After its run there, it re-opened off-broadway at the Lucille Lortel theater where it ran for over 2 years before closing. The pictures and cast members you display in the video as being part of this production is completely incorrect. None of the actresses you name and display in photos were a part of this production, but instead, were a part of the short lived 2005 revival, on Broadway. This marked the first time the play was produced on Broadway and it was not a hit, lasting only a few months.
Thank you James for these major corrections!
Please don't....quit ruining movies.
How exactly am I ruining movies?
But white people are allowed to star in their own movies. Their friend group would naturally be more white. especially in that time when there were more white people...stop replacing white people.in their own stories
I would replace Oprah with Angela Bassett
The beauty of this is we could cast this movie a bunch of different ways just with Black American actresses alone! I liked the idea of reuniting Whoopi and Oprah as frenemies. I think that stunt is interesting enough to make even Angela Bassett want to see that movie. But yeah, Alfre Woodard and Angela Bassett would be a good team up for Ouiser and Clairee!
Nope. That cast was incredible synergy. Not going to find that around today.
I just did. So you're wrong.
Great interview and so honest and love his upbeat personality
I love your cast picks. I would choose Ava Duvernay as director.
Thanks!
She's my pick as well!
which 4 states?
I should’ve asked! I didn’t catch that until I was editing.
He's cute! 🌸🍀
Going into this, I thought this was an archived piece on Belli. He looks a lot younger than his years of experience would tag him to be. It is also nice to see that the Hollywood scene has not tarnished him mentally like it has so many others. It's a nice piece.
What a narcissistic bore. Can't watch the entire video.
Love this interview 🎉 Love Willam 🎉 the honest & raw energy is so refreshing - no glitz, no glamour, just a calm environment & demeanor ❤ Don't get me wrong i love a little flashy, trashy, good time 😅 but this was just comforting & had a more "real" feel than most interviews 😊 Probably didn't hurt that they are friends/acquaintances - love love! Great job everyone !
No more chasing, I felt that.
One of the best interviews.
