I got a letter in marching band in HS. It was as tough to letter in as track and XC, and I did all 3. But marching band was the only sport I was in where others passed out during practice, and I came close to it.

So I admit the 4 way cross was pretty spectacular, but I’m not as impressed with some of the turns at the end zone. A lot of the band members shuffled stepped when making that turn, and if I saw it, I’m sure the director did as well, and laid in to them hard. That being said it was an excellent drill.

It's not "choreography!" Idiot, it's precision marching!! Not every marching band or drum corps believes in the "modern" version of marching arts production!! Some of us appreciate pure, concise marching shows! Leave the Bob Fosse crap to Broadway!!

I lived in Aggieland for 34 years. Last 15 of those years - 14 blocks south of Kyle Field. Saturdays, if I was not working, I could always hear the games and the band. Now I am in far north Texas - Thanks for this video. Finest marching band in the world. GKT - TAMU Class '80.

Really? It may have been hard for the bandmembers, but I think the director needs to look at films or videos from earlier. I'm just 'old' and have seen much more spectacular displays & the 'art' shouldn't be lost to time.

I'll take this over the tv overpaid talking heads rehashing what we just saw. Those were the days! I wish people could appreciate just how difficult FTAB's continuous close proximity drills are to do...especially 6 steps to 5 yards, diagonals, and right turns on the right foot.

Really not all that impressive - drum corps do MUCH better marching shows. Look up Concord Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, or any other DCI top 12 corps. This is REALLY basic straight line marching.

There was a high school marching band under Eugene Polaski that did similar drills (between 160 and 200 instrumentalists plus up to 100 flag & other assorted drill team members -- dependent on the year, from about 1970 until 1982 or so).... and he had very strict discipline... pushups if you messed up, and if you were in the way of the band still doing them, the band members were NOT allowed to swerve out of the way... expect to get marched on... even car drivers that tried to block the way were marched over or would find that we would get hit before we would move.... unless we were told to move the car, then it got picked up and MOVED by 10 - 20 young men....

We did a giant Block T like this when I was in the Corps. There was a suggestion that the Parsons Mounted Cavalry could use its horses to form an "A" and an "M" beside the "T." Fortunately, wiser heads prevailed -- obviating horse byproduct mishaps on the playing field.

Lines are so straight. When in HS in the 70’s we marched new routine every week. Now HS just go out, stand on the side and play boring music. So disappointing.
