I live on the Outer Banks, you are correct, we're on a sand bar. It has moved inshore. And back out to sea for thousands of years. The northern Outer Banks does beach nourishment every 7 years, though Avon and South doesn't do this, and it's on federal land, along the national sea shore. The federal government just sent 100's of billions to a foreign war. This isn't climate change, it's something that y'all can point to and say see climate change is real. Oyster shells wash up onto the beaches, the oysters grow in the sounds behind the outer Banks, that means this sand bar moves.

These were great cars! As a lifelong mechanic i've always sworn by GM W-bodies and H-bodies with the 3800. And even today they're still a performance and reliable bargain and there is a lot of aftermarket support for 3800s still. I can still blow the doors off many other cars even V8s today with my 04 Dale Jr supercharged Monte Carlo SS L67

K cars were good riding,handling cars for the era...The Turbo versions were rockets! Lots of companies use the same platform for several lines of vehicles and modify them..Sure that Imperial was based on a K car platform but it officially wasn't a K car,it was a highly modified platform..Furthermore the Imperial wasnt designed to be a volume leader in sales,it was a traditional luxury car vs Cadillac and Lincoln,not Mercedes or BMW.The New Yorker and Dynasty that was what the Imperial was based on those were hot sellers for its segment..

You fail to grasp the real problem. Barrier islands need to move and shift westward in this case, toward the mainland, that is natural and unstoppable. When you develop these islands and put in roads and infrastructure, you have to try to stop the ocean from moving the islands westward. Good luck with that. Large sections of the OBX will disappear in the coming decades with or without climate change.

I could see these being really great for a hybrid motorcycle. Engine has few moving parts, decent power and good for high rpm which is needed for energy generation to extend the range of a very very small inexpensive li-ion battery pack!

I've been vacationing at the outer banks since 1974. Dare county earned the state of NC 1.8 billion in visitor revenue for the latest year there are stats for. Avon is a very popular vacation spot in Dare County with its beach houses consistently rented by vacationers from mid-April to early November earning between $1200 and $20K per week. The state gets a heathy surtax off the commerce of an average of 5 million visitors per year to the area. Sea level is rising approximately 4 millimeters per year or about 1/4 inch annually according to the latest stats. That's worst case unlike what you're implying with yet another climate change Armageddon video. The cost of beach nourishment for Avon was approximately 12.5 million in 2022. The cost to replenish the beach there was .006 percent of the total visitor revenue realized by the state. Still believe the villages and towns on the outer banks aren't worth the funds to preserve as the summer playgrounds for millions of beach goers as you seem to be suggesting? Especially since highway 12 is the only road providing access to federal parkland and the bird sanctuaries from the Oregan inlet south? Think again.
