I think Eternal Rains Will Come is one of the best songs ever made. The Drums, the Organ, the guitar solo and the very very powerful yet subtle bass lines paired with great lyrics....As per my Spotify Wrapped, in 2023 alone I've listened to that song for over 1000 times.

I’m 66 now and didn’t discover them until I was about 50. I lived through all of the 60s and 70s bands. Um, there were a few good bands.😂😂😂 YET- Opeth is my favorite band of all time. How can they not be!!!! I own their entire catalog. 2 Favorite albums: Ghost Reveries and In Cauda Venenum. The only 2 that are slightly weak are their first two, and even those are good considering how young Mikael was at that time.

This is probably my favorite thing about Opeth. They have songs that will make you laugh or cheer, and raise your spirits. They have songs that will make you cry, and question yourself. They have songs that will stress you out, and make you wonder if what you're doing is right. They have songs that will make you want to party/most, or want to enter battle. And (my favorite), they have songs that will make you feel like a god. Or a sentry of an ancient temple. Standing apost in the face of Nature, and braving the elements without batting an eye. Be it pouring rain, raging winds, or whatever else. And then there's whatever tf is going on with Sorceress. Opeth has an absolutely wonderful variety of music that every metalhead should explore. Dare I say it's even enough to even build character, after you listen to them long enough.
