What my refrigerator sounded like with a bad Start Device; you can compare this with suspicious sounds your refrigerator is making.
A Start Device is a solid-state variation of a start relay with overload protector. Many videos talk about their Start Device rattling when bad, but mine did not rattle at all. I bought a Whirlpool OEM replacement from Amazon with 1-day delivery for about $38, installed it as other videos show, and it seems to be working.

00:33secs - Start Device seems to click at around :33, I assume this is initialization step of some kind.
01:21secs - Start Device clicks ON at around, compressor starts buzzing
