Where Are the 4C Wigs?
I'm tired of going in the hair store and searching online, but seeing nothing but wigs and weaves that look NOTHING like my hair. I love a lil straight and wavy wig, but I REALLY want to see hair that looks like mine that I don't have to make. Do you feel the same?

I believe a black woman is beautiful rather she wears a wig or not. It's her choice what she wears on her head. A wig is not a black woman thing. Every race wears wigs and in today's society including men

I wear wigs, weaves, and anything else that I want to wear on my body because i simply want too. And I don't listen to anyone putting their nose where it doesn't belong regarding my personal choices. Do you and be happy with your shrinkage. Have a nice day.

I see many men with shoulder & waist length 4c hair. Get locs, braid or twist it, then take them down and fluff with your fingers. No heat needed-just keep your ends trimmed. Or shampoo/condition then carefully blowdry out with a brush blow dryer. Plenty of RUclipsr do their own hair this way, and some great tutorials!!

I grew up in the 60s even before the Afro. BW even used Vaseline and lard grease to style their hair. As a BM I’ve always liked natural no matter how short it were. As blacks we know by the texture our hair as a people doesn’t extend long. Some people but your average doesn’t. Many women make excuses bc of their jobs or it’s inconvenient to wear a natural they do false hair. Well that’s not what I noticed and I’m being real here. I noticed for sure it’s an inner desire to have straight long haired like many other nationalities of women on this earth. And you can truly notice the attitude change in many, the constant touching and waving. This woman in this video here is gorgeous! I wouldn’t change a thing. To me that’s what being black is all about.

If I were black I would rock my natural hair. I see women with natural hair and it looks perfect and looks like they spent hours in a salon. Meanwhile I have long hair and it is hideous, gets tangled, gets matted if I wear a collared shirt and reminds me of a dog's hair. It's just nasty. Embrace your race....all of it and be proud of your hair. You are the one that is being hard on yourself....You look better being natural and if some dude doesn't want you with your natural hair, then move on and find someone that does appreicate you being natural.

I think about Black women who are like me in being lazy or ambivalent with beauty stuff or especially those Black women who are my fellow depression sufferers and it feels overwhelming to imagine the steps and the pressure to look cute.

I love to see black women where their natural hair. My hope is that black men and women can truly be mentally free from the shackles of the white beauty standard and see the true beauty in being natural. The complete support within our community is important. The more we confidently embrace it, the more we positively influence the culture and break the generational cycle of hiding our beauty. The power lies with us first. The crown act is an important step in this direction.

I personally think that these men think this way because they think certain women are "easier" to get with if you know what I mean. The 4C woman is showing her strength, and let's be honest, many men fear women's strengths. It's a little intimidating. That's my two cents.

Your boss...the ignorance is real. The fact that the Crown Act exists is evidence that our civil rights are still lacking in so many ways. Why are so many people worried about our hair? You'd think it had some magic powers or something or that it was some kind of weapon of mass destruction. It really makes no darn sense to me. It grows out of our heads that way. What's the freaking problem? Sorry, I went on a rant.

4c hair is beautiful. I honestly think more black women should wear short hair. Pros of short hair : time, $, scalps airs out better, as a man you can hug your woman without her hair getting on you, no hair in food. Women with short hair look younger & fitter. Hair makes faces look wider. Black women have feminine faces even with short hair compared to other groups that look more similar to the males in their groups most black women look drastically different from black men when both have short hair compared to other groups where the men and women look sort of similar. Women in Africa with short hair look more feminine than women with long hair. It could be attitude but usually the women with short hair are more humble and jovial. Long hair takes away from black women’s face and usually ends up being straightened, loosened, a lot of time to detangle it, also $, it’s hard to build generational wealth with a woman spending $ that could be invested in stock market on her hair. Also hair could get in food, long hair requires more maintenance, how much lost time that could be quality time. Straighten hair especially when it doesn’t look natural takes away from black beauty. It doesn’t look right. I imagine if other ethnic groups started making their hair 4c in mass it would take away from their features as well. Also time that could be used to sleep, clean up or work out. A lot of wasted time and $, when cutting it would be easier.

No make looks right on me. I'm going bald on top. I have to wear bangs now to hide that I have no hair on top. I had the fullest hair every one loved it. Now I use little girls rubber bands. No big girl bands for me anymore. 😢 I started buying wigs. I have no choice in it anymore. I don't know how to put on or wear wigs. I just feel stupid. Okay, so black women don't want to be looked at because of their natural hair, yet they wear bright, super unnatural hair? I totally understand that the natural texture can be difficult to maintain, and wigs are ALOT healthier for the hair. And easier to style.. .not to mention fun. But if you don't want the attention on your because of your hair, why have unnatural colors at styles that no other race has? This is not intended to be a rude comment or anything! I'm just honestly very curious.

A wig is something you can take off. Your real hair isn’t. Many black women were and are teased for having natural hair when it doesn’t fit into certain desirability standards. That causes psychological trauma that influences their decision to cover it. Others wear colored wigs for creativity and are indifferent to the attention.

My hair was short and complete, but silk presses were too expensive too frequently. Now I rock a short natural pixie which makes me feel fat and unattractive. However, after prayer, I realized 😊 I'm not my hair and am starting to embrace All of me through Christ Jesus. Someone told me I look younger and have a glow. Jesus Christ renews the mind. ❤😊🎉🙏👐🏾👍🏾👍
