    The problem with the pull kick is the shoulder leans , a give away Wallace uses a bounce to prevent this almost like a broken rhythm jumping jack , legs come together and kick at once , head stays safe in the same position , distance gained on bounce , does not look aggressive.

  • @lylesuperfoot
    @lylesuperfoot 5 лет назад

    Great points if like Bill Wallace you step hard only 6 inches you get that freezing effect on your opponent you can then change the kicks arc example sidekick to round or hookick ,if you step to wide , your telegraphing and will get jammed or he will attack you angularly.

    Good fighters feint and use a technique called “Attack By Drawing” (ABD) . This is when you attempt to draw in your opponent to attack a certain area of your body to allow you to dodge or defend and counter to the attack and hit a particular area of their body. It is a skill that takes a lot of practice to perfect and comes with experience if you have been trained to do it. Taekwondo practitioners have this as part of strategic planning of attack. However other strategies are just as effective if they are done well enough eg: Single Direct Attacks (SDA) ala Jon Jones who is by far the best fighter the ufc has ever seen. His main arsenal of striking is solid SDA’s to the correct vital points of the opponent conserving energy and getting the job done efficiently against the best MMA fighters in the world . Goes to show you don’t need to complicate things, if you can attack with intelligence and confidence to the vital points job is done .

    ITF is the true taekwondo..no disrespect to the WT or Olympic style but that's not really taekwondo, maybe they should give it a different name or something to save people the confusion?

    Tae Kwon Do can blend quite well with boxing. This is a step above most schools doing TKD. However, I would recommend students seek out a serious boxing coach and gym and learn it that way.

    I genuinely believed Taekwondo was just a 'sport' that focused too heavily on kicks, but the more I learn about it - especially ITF - the more interesting it becomes. :-)

    • @RyuEnGamer

      ITF is more heavily rooted in Karate. So more balance between kicks and punches.

  • @georgekondylis6723

    I have taught old school TKD for 40 years, boxed for 10. He is off balance when punching. Too much lean and his feet leave the ground. His footwork is off because his weight shifts to his mid sole. Still better than 90 percent of TKD practitioners.

    this "guy" is amazing lol, i've actually watched back to back all the clips (both self defense and sparring, both 2013 and 2014) he is featured in, he's that good. I'm not even a practicioner of any style of Taekwondo and I couldn't do what most of these students can do (just a fresh yellow belt), but I was fascinated, can clearly see he's the real deal. Plus, I love his accent.

    • @desilvatkd
      @desilvatkd 7 лет назад

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed the clip. Apologies for not having replied sooner. How is your training going? The yellow belt must be a distant memory now and you must be a more senior grade.

    • @36424567254
      @36424567254 7 лет назад

      funny enough, i've just got another yellow belt. Technically the third one, the first 2 being in wado-ryu karate and kenpo (that i had at the time of the comment). Since then I had to stop training in that gym and ultimately decided to switch to a full contact art, Kudo, which is my 3rd yellow belt, although in Kudo that is actually 6th kyu (i.e. 4th grade). I've actually thought of trying TKD to improve my kicks, but to be honest i'm really not interested anymore in traditional techniques which aren't actually applicable to live sparring: the blocks, the open hand strikes, and the whole sine-wave theory. I guess from your inside perspective i've turned into "one of these people", eheh. Don't get me wrong, i still respect and in fact envy the kicking skills of many TKD practitioners, but I don't care for the rest anymore, simply because i haven't found it to be effective at all when I finally started sparring. On another note though, since Master Dalton talked about ground fighting at some point in the clips, I''ve had the chance to try it and it is awesome, I recommend anyone to try it, it's simply fun (as well as useful for self defence).
