Hello there! To answer your question, there are no filters but you can filter ALPHA by covering the sensor with a piece of paper.

@@Toasted_Bread_Bug Are you referring to the GMC-600 Plus or the GMC-800? You may need to use a bit more force when opening the battery cover. You may also try using a slotted screw driver to open the battery cover; try pushing down the tab and lifting the cover up.

Hello! Please do not remove the tape or shrink wrap. This to to prevent UV rays to accidentally cause a count. Not all tube are light sensitive but in very occasional circumstance, UV light can product false counts.

Hi there! To answer your question, it takes at least a minute to get an accurate reading if you radiation source is weak. But if it is really very low level or nothing at all, you may need hours to really get the difference on average CPM compared to background.

Yes, it should be same as old one, just the port to the device is changed from mini to type c. Also, it should be able to detect beta gamma and xray with both tubes.
