Great vid.........second time seeing this particular one yet I caught a bunch more out of it this time. His comment on experience is 100% spot on as experience is the great teacher. A old boss of mine had a sign hanging on the wall behind his desk that fits here I think: "Good Judgement Comes from Experience - Experience Comes from Bad Judgement"...........

I've never been in the army as a soldier was a kitchen porter in the barracks in Winchester city uk 🇬🇧 and I've had voices telling me they are taliban and Muslims say we are going to kill you cut your head off the voices was in my ear not my head and I had voice in my other ear saying there SAS telling me don't worry we are here we got you back it was like I had speakers in my ears and SAS and taliban was talking to me SAS in one ear taliban in the other and a army helicopter a Chinnock flew really low over my house which easied my anxiety I don't have ptsd I have schizoaffective disorder they diagnosed me with.

Lol, I am a Psychiatrist, and the thought that only soldiers have PTSD is making me chuckle to myself. Does ANYONE REALLY think it is just for soldiers? I like shawn's show because he highlights the silent wars against children and women in the human trafficking world. He should educate himself more on how many women live in abusive environments (not just physical) and do some content on this topic - a lot of women are controlled and financially TRAPPED in their own home. This is a problem we can solve - we just need some momentum and some good private organizations to get these ladies free. Shawn should educate himself on how high the rates of child abuse are, and how the state either does not know, or has a shit system of either contunuing with the child at home or placing them in foster care. IK it sounds like a generalization, but the amount of abuse that occurs in foster care is sickening. So think of alllll of these women and children. PTSD and cPTSD aint just for soldiers.

Everybody is different. You can't expect people to feel and think the same as you. Some people, with his type of personality, really try to convince others that they have got it together, when they really haven't.

I remember doing the 60km at the end of our selection and stopped for a shit so that resonated to me lol. I was fortunate to have driven guys, although the selection was mostly by yourself, there was an aspect where you were in a team hauling jerry cans for 24 hours over sand dunes, lost one lad on that, every pussy pulled out in the first 3 days lol. The 2 baked beans didnt cut it for some. That was where fitness went out the window and mentality took over

John McPhee reminds me a lot of Donald Trump. They both speak their mind. They don't BS around. They say it like it is whether you like it or not.

Interesting perspective. It's a way of flipping the script and actually acknowledging the individual and showing them some gratitude while giving it proper purpose and justification. Not saying killing people is a good thing, but sometimes that also saves lives. That's a great lesson.

This makes a lot of sense. I always wondered how law enforcement could see so much death and killing over and over throughout their career but nobody talks about their PTSD. Meanwhile a lot of dudes I served with in the army talk about how they can’t function due to PTSD after one deployment. There has to be something there.
