Mostly an unedited drone flight from the north side of Hambleton peninsular over Rutland Water. Just a few photos at the beginning and the end from our stay at the Finch's Arms and our afternoon stroll. Happy Birthday Dave!

Fitting an engine timer to a Honda GCV170 engine

This is my new Honda powered Hawksmoor lawnmower from toolstation. I decided to fit an engine timer before firing it up for the first time. I fitted this without drilling any holes into the engine plastics, as many other videos show. I bought the timer off Amazon. It is called thr Jayron Digital LCD Inductive Hour Meter. Please note, I did fill the mower with oil before the first start - I forg...

This is the first edit I've done using the new Insta360 Studio V5. All content recorded on an Insta360x3, on a dank December day. This is really just an experiment, before I get into editing and uploading all the footage I shot in Australia in January this year (2024). This video uploaded on 30 April 2024 (if all goes to plan!). The location of the footage is in an area just south of Oxendon Tu...

I have cruised on many cruise lines, and must admit AMBASSADOR are up amongst the best especially no fly cruises from the UK
Very informative and useful video! Keep them up! 👍
The cabin we had was a disgrace, had to bring it to the attention of reception the first week and second week, with just three days to go before disembarkation they offered us a different cabin, bit late for that. We booked a premium balc0ny cabin, was more like a very basic cabin with faults, it's a pity I cant show you the photo's
Will never go on Ambition again
Why?
What a wonderful cruise around Britain and Scotland thanks 😊 look forward to the next cruise
Good job
Great footage mate .. i was here today ... it looks much nicer in the summertime
MAVIC mIni? Great video.
Hi Bernard, What's the plane please?
I just bought a Phoenix 2000 and had a couple of flights with it.. looking forward to popping over to Burrough Hill sometime! What wind speed and direction would be good for a beginner ?
Haven't flown at Borrough Hill for years, but I seem to remember either SW or NW for the main slopes, and a steady 10-15 mph wind, enjoy...
looks great It will never be that clean again!
Thankyou Bernard I will visit there soon ta

how does one go about adding the rx switch for the lights. 'cause that is way cool!
Hi Edward. It was quite straightforward. I used a Turnigy Receiver Controlled switch from hobbyking - -www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=56483 and some crimp fit bullet connectors. I'm not sure where you are, but I picked some up from Halfords in the UK, - www.halfords.com/motoring/garage-equipment/auto-electrical-supplies/halfords-assorted-male-female-bullet-connectors-5-15-amp-hef195 You need the smaller red ones - two male and two female. i'm sure these are much cheaper on the internet - but I was in this store anyway. And I already had a crimp tool - this type of thing - www.screwfix.com/p/forge-steel-4-way-crimper/27955 The Flybeam has two additional smaller wires that come from the main battery connector to the LED circuit. I cut the red wire, stripped it back a little and crimped a male and female bullet connector to each of the cut wires. I then crimped a male and a female bullet connector to each of the red wires coming out of the Turnigy Receiver Controller. These were then pushed into the bullet connectors on the LED circuit. I could have soldered on some connectors, but the crimps are simple, light, and plenty strong enough. Also, because there is no heat involved, I did the crimping with the wires still in the plane with no risk of melting something. However, if you have never used crimps before, then I recommend you buy a few extra and have a practice on something else first before cutting into your planes wiring! So I only made one cut to the Flybeam wiring, which can easily be returned to standard as the cut wire had the male and female connectors in-line. Then I connected the Turnigy Receiver Controller to the receiver in the flybeam (I use 6 channel Orange RX R615x with my Spektrum DX7s). The Turnigy Receiver Controller has a pre-wired plug that goes straight into a spare channel plug in a receiver. There are some toggle switches on the Turnigy Receiver Controller, that you may need to fiddle with to make sure off is off, and on is on, but the instructions that come with it are really clear. For me, the 'light switch' is on the 'Gear' channel - as the flybeam is never going to have retracts - and for me this works fine. I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have further questions. Good luck and let me know how you get on. Regards, Bernard.
thanks! I got it working!
Brilliant! Can you post some pictures or a video? Unfortunately I crashed my flybeam the other day - straight in at full speed! The next project now is to transfer all the electronics (including LED strips) to a Bixler 2. I guess that will then be a Bixlerbeam! Happy flying Ed!
