April 20th 2020 - phones phones phones - comforting connecting but also at times disembodied voices in my ear, amplifying the isolation.
Still my favorite version on RUclips. Historical performance be damned.
❤❤❤❤
Beautiful, keep it up man
...nice one!
When I was a little kid, I would fill pages of paper with the same uneven line pattern as this videos cover. How interesting
yeah lockdown was in parts like being a little kid again :-)
Pleasant surprise in my recommendations, always interesting listening to these low view songs that YT likes to show me.
...nice one, John...
very nice
a pleasant little surprise to have in my recommendations, helps especially since I was having a rough day, thank you!
😔😔i love this song
I am glad that i have come across this video. I really enjoyed the music and the art truly symbolizes humanity. We all become unique, we all become ourselves by having little pieces of every close being that has crossed our path in life. Thank you.
Bruh 😂
I'm hearing almost exactly the same bird songs through my window 😮 great song
amazing performance!
This is so cool man
thanks for all the kind remarks on social media - including this from Keith Bray : The visuals beautiful. The music has a Webernian sensitivity to silence and its disturbance of it. Like ripples on a lake or drops of rain in a puddle. The music and visuals beautifully married together. Really like both elements and especially together.
Beautiful.
Thank you! Cheers!
...the animation and the music are so wonderful, they are one "being" from the very beginning, like a living organism...well done, wish it lasted longer...(Lev)
❤
Wonderful & fascinating, John.
I'm not sure if the whammy bar is accurate performance practice, I thought they weren't used until at least 1700.....:)
This is a riot--I love the bobble-heads at the end!
Brilliant😊
You are a genius!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👍
I love it. Actually listening How long volume 1 and i find it awesome. All songs are great.
Wonderful. Great idea the multiple youse 😊
Love it
Brilliant! Love Dowland, early music and the Shadows. Well done! There's plenty of room for more of this.
😂
Many thanks for sending into the interworld, much appreciated.
nice one!
fantastic!
...great improv!
This is, without question, one of the greatest videos I have seen on RUclips yet.
Okay, I had my doubts.....but this is first rate! I love Dowland, and this marries wonderfully a Renascence classic with that perfect Hank Marvin sound!
This is AWESOME. I take it the deviation from the original of which you speak is your use of the electric guitar and the rock and roll beat.😊😊👍👍
Lovely
Very cool!! :D
John Dowland superstar 🎸🎶
C'est génial, c'est drôle, c'est fin, c'est décalé, c'est plein d'esprit, c'est super inventif!!!
if you put the audio on Bandcamp or something I'd happily pay for a recording of this, it's ace!
Wonder full i like it very much
LMAO. Good one. BTW, John Dowland originally transcribed and published his work into French lute tablature, which is substantially similar to modern guitar tablature. All Dowland's work is now public domain and legal copies of his original transcriptions are available on the internet for free. So you don't HAVE to read traditional music notation to play this or other Dowland pieces, if you don't want to!
Great Work
Thanks! One of my favorite RUclips videos.
You are wonderful! How come I didn't know about you before?
Cooooool!
Horrible! Just horrible! Laughed my ass off at the mediocrity and jangle! Shit!
No words to describe your comments.
The group I play with has done this piece many times but not with this much spirit. I completely enjoyed this version.
Shira, You are Music through and through. How about the Vermonters....(Tony Barrand and friends)......does anyone know them? Are they still around?
