This is excellent mud wrestling. I like the traditional ring surrounding the mud pit! I like the two lady wrestlers in it even better, especially the one in the purple bikini.

You know some of these HOF were great horsemen, but god awful drivers.

Amazing video, I remember Benny W telling me how Billy and Stanley were the Godfathers of Harness. I recall in Buffalo giving him a little hand in the paddock and Billy telling the judges how hard the track was and he would not hurt his trotter there. RIP

Is there a time where Billy didn’t have a cigarette in his hand or mouth? I’m surprised cancer didn’t get him instead of his tragic accident.

When you love what you do, it's never work. How I wish the attendance today at any racetrack could get back to the numbers seen in the 60's, when grandstand and aprons were packed with harness racing fans.🐎❣️🐎

Your lucky if you get 50 people at Yonkers now.and if you place a 100 win bet in Monticello you alone will make a horse 1-9. Very sad.

What a great piece to watch. Being a big fan of harness & flat racing this was a treat. What a tragedy that took place later in their lives to Bill & son Peter. Great horseman RIP to both. 🙏🙏🙏

I would really like to know who the guy riding on the right side of the cart was that got to ride with Stanley Dancer AND Billy Haughton! I also wonder how many years before this it had been since Stanley had ridden on the shaft with a sideline on a baby.

I remember this. All of it. Sometimes if I think hard enough, I could almost smell the food from the track kitchen. In fact, both of them. The one that burned down and the other one. My godfather worked in D.

Looks like it was a cold May afternoon in Monticello. Happy they switched the antique bike after seeing the wheel tipped a little. That's a good crowd for the time of year it was. I used to ride the Palamino in the barn area in 1961-66 he was the security horse for the barn area.

Never knew Monticello ,except for maybe five times or so.Did catch a Slutsky.At this juncture of my life,would probaly be cool to know the area better.Seems like a place to take it easy.Sad that the businesses portrayed aren't there,but life has marched on.

Most have been gods country back in the 60s.

Wow there was a trip down memory lane. We stabled at Good Time Park early 60s, the dress, cars, town all looked familiar although I don't remember the world being black and white. lol Seriously, I used to love the Art Museum room in the Hall of Fame. We spent a lot of time in there on hot summer afternoons. When I went there not so long ago, I couldn't find that room. Did they do away with it? The entire museum is so much bigger now. All I could find was that one little area with the Currier and Ives prints.
