Due to the high winds, I decided to meet up with Brian and Graham for a session at Vale Park instead of going to Anglesey. The target as ever at Vale Park would be Thornback rays

Brian from @Brian.wirral.northwalesfishing organised a session at Porth Tyn Tywyn on Anglesey with his brother Graham @itgetsyououtseafishing2349 to target small eyed ray. We turned up at 10pm and fished part of the tide in and the the whole of the ebb. We had an unexpected visitor for the majority of the night......Basil.

Our Final day on Chesil and the weather had turned very wet. So in stead of a session at Abbotsbury as planed, we made the decision to head back to Ferrybridge as it was the closest and gave us an opportunity to catch a trigger fish.

Two quick sessions on the penultimate day of my holiday. First was a spinning session at first light and the second a night session on the main beach at Playa de Castillo in Ceta de Fuste. For the night session, I was using a Bison 6 Section 11'6" travel rod I purchased from Amazon.

Fishing at Perch Rock, River Mersey - 2/9/23
hello. I'll be in caleta de fuste next week. I'll also be fishing. I have a question, what bait do you use? Will corner olives with chicken meat be good?
Not sure about that bait combination, but I used prawn or squid.
Lads if you are ever back fishing at Arbroath I suggest you fish at the right end cage area. When I lived their that was many a year ago, I am now 73 years old and that's where the cod was being caught then, do not know what it's like now? Tite lines, thanks for the memories lads.
Thanks for the tip, might be heading up before the end of the year
Well done on your rays feller😊👍👍
Cheers, it was nice to finally catch a target species.
Great video And nice intro, you showed us how it’s done 😂as always good to have a chat and fish with you 👍
Cheers Graham, it was an enjoyable morning of fishing
You just never know what’s about it could of been a great session, i must admit once I seen the wind gusts it made my mind up for me😀 See you on the next one 👍
Brian did mention there was little chance of you turning up 😂
Morning Gareth. Not sure on the comments ??? Wasn't that windy THE HAIR ON MY HEAD was hardly moving 😆😆😆. More learning and knowledge on what works and doesn't work in them conditions added to the fishing encyclopaedia . Look forward to more local sessions now Gareth. and plan our south Wales weekend trip. 👍
It was good to do a daytime session and as you say learnt some info about how to fish those conditions
That's beach fishing in the daylight!! The break was brutal as usual and the wind made it harder
Heard Gary Wood won, no surprise there then! Did plan to fish the evening down, but got feed up of pulling weed in with every cast.
Good effort Gareth, i was going to come down to meet u guys but when i seen the forecast i thought it would have been a struggle fishing there, but i ended up at prestatyn over low and pensarn for couple of cast, just a small dab for my efforts, sea was just too rough and weed was pretty bad. On to the next one..... tight lines mate
Cheers Hakan, it was tough going. Brian carried on and fished the tide down, I gave up due to the weed
Tough conditions, looks like you gave it a good shot👊🏻
Very hard going with weed coming in with every cast.
Well its typical of fishing this session we get out together and the fishing is poor. Hope irs better at the weekend for us . Cheers Brian 👍
Nice fish mate… shame we couldn’t see the bite..
Enjoyed your Chesil series. Must get down there sometime
If you do arrange something let me know. Love fishing there
@@garethwilliams3333 will do
One of those pouting would have been put on a big hook and sent out if I was there
Gareth This session was a refreshing change have a couple of RUclips channels fishing together and just enjoying the simple fishing are sport offers. I for one would like to do this more often really enjoyed the whole night out 👍👍👍. Cheers Brian.
Always look on the plus side we made a new friend and now have 2😂😂was great to catch up again shame the fishing was slow 🎣🙄
Was this last night (Friday 20/9) I was fishing up the coast from you on the rocks. Was tempted to give there a go on way home 🙈
It was, I thought as it was your daughters b'day it would be too late of a session for you!! doh! I'll message you to arrange a session
@@garethwilliams3333 family gathering was Thursday last night I fished and was home by 11pm, something wrong there I think 😂
Sir you have done something that i feel extremely passionate about. If your keeping a fish dispatch it as soon as possible or if your not get it back in the water. I see it all the time by mackerel catchers leaving them suffocating on the beach. I would imagine many would agree with me or if you dont your not a responsible human being.
Are you talking about all the fish caught that day or a particular one?
I couldn't tell you because I had to turn it off after the first one!🤬🤬
do people with blue badges have to pay a charge ?, if not then i can afford to go fishing on chesil as ive never fished there before.
I honestly don't know, there is a free car park further down in Portland.
Good stuff. What was the best bait on the day - rag, black lug or squid?
Rag tipped with squid caught all the bream and the gurnard came to just ragworm
Well done Gents, a foul day for sure. I blanked at Seatown after deciding to go west rather than the deep end…
Thanks for watching
Great vid well done, was there many crabs about? im down there tomorrow not sure where yet,is it a bit late for hounds now?
We lost only one rig to what we believe was a crab snipping the snood. Caught a smooth hound pup the day before at Cogden.
Looks like a great place to chuck a poo🤤🥴✅💯
Few more fish Gareth 👍like it . Away day fishing trip are hard so best of luck for the last 2 days. And the Ray's are waiting for you when you get back . Cheers Brian.
Nice one Gareth 👍. Good start hope it gets better for you both. Cheers Brian.
Cheers Brian
Just remember if your fishing your not waisting your time .Enjoyed watching.
Well done on your bream👍 & best of luck to you over the next few days, I think it’s pretty tough fishing at the moment 😎👍👍
Thanks Lincoln, off to West Bexington later
Always good to get out and no blank 👍enjoy the couple of days fishing 🎣 should be good plenty of time fishing in a lovely place 👍
Cheers Graham
That beach produces some big stingers for me in March. That was a black bream not a gilt great video
Thanks for the fish ID, wish I had bigger rods with me to try for the stingers. My son did a scuba diving course in the harbour and said that he seen 2 large sting rays.
@@garethwilliams3333 loads around there massive ones. I’m back again in three weeks hopefully find some god fish
Good luck, hope you catch
I'm sure the gang would like to go there on a trip sometime
Let me know if you do go, would love to tag along to target the big fish there.
Nice little session. You back on the island soon?
Yes, but it would have to be later in September, I've got a 4 day fishing trip at Chesil beach at the beginning of September. Plus it my anniversary in 2 weeks.
Lures don't work 😂
Nice one, always nice to see new species. I would have gone straight to size 16 down the side ha ha!
Don't think I could tie a knot on a size 16 with my eyesight!!!!
@@garethwilliams3333 try size 24🙈
got to give it a go i
Do you live in wales or Lancashire ? Just wondering as to how many miles you put in.
From Anglesey originally, but live in the North West at the moment. But I like fishing different venues.I'm off for four days at the beginning of September to fish Chesil beach.
Ok thanks for your reply I live in Warrington .but I fish by myself mostly I’ve got plenty of time because I am 71 and retired ,but the price of fuel and bait is a bit restrictive .keep up the great video,s I really enjoy them next best thing to being there Cheers Paul.
Well dine m8.keep uploading the good work. Fished are rossal few weeks back after watching your video on that big slope. I had 3 smooth hounds
Thanks for watching, glad you had a good session at Rossall
@garethwilliams3333 yes m8ni normally fish aro north east withensea hull Easington etc. Sometimes I also go new brighton for bass and flatties but merse seems to be sort of dead for them for alm two years now. I will probably try mersey for codlin in winter. I was just wandering if rossal is any good for codlin and whitings in winter? It seems a very practical spot as you can pump few worms and fish over there.
Is@garethwilliams3333 is rossal any good for whitings and codlin in winter
Yes, you can catch codling from there, I have a couple of videos of catching them. I don't think many were caught last year, but in 2022 quite a few were caught. I find that the codling off Cleveleys/Rossall are bigger than what you catch in the Mersey. ruclips.net/video/seZKY4gEBmc/видео.htmlsi=bFTcOBgfN_n6-vu_ ruclips.net/video/xmpDbwKQF9E/видео.htmlsi=fkXj3X8s4otig3Gw
@@garethwilliams3333 I had 2 codlin last year at North east around withensea Easington river humber etc. It was an appalling season m8. Hopefully we get few more this year
Was there last week. Caught 1 bream. Looked out to point by Ezra Mar.older local guy out every day. Never caught anything. Pool life guard showed me pictures of fish he’d caught but he was out in boat
Enjoyed my holiday there, would love to go back there for just a fishing holiday.
That’s what it’s all about getting out and having fun, Enjoy the rest of your holiday 👍
Cheers Graham
🎣👍
Great stuff Gareth, new you would get out fishing 🎣 nice way too fish and great colours on them 👍
I forgot how enjoyable float fishing is.
Target achieved Gareth 👍good job you never fished perch rain all morning that’s why i stayed in bed 😂hope you and the family have a great holiday 👍
Thanks Graham, packing for the holiday as we speak and trying not to take too much fishing gear!!
@@garethwilliams3333 hide some lures in yeah socks 🧦 😂enjoy the sunshine ☀️ 👍

Great to get out with you and finally meet up. We will get that shark next time 🦈
Really enjoyed the day and good to meet up. Shame only the dogfish came out and played with us!
Good video mate. Was hail stone this. Morning then summer agai. 🤣👌
Cheers Marcus, weather was unbelievable, I think we had all 4 season in the session!!
We used to water ski from New Brighton, skiing on the Mersey, how glamorous, we did have wet suits, and the water is starting to get salty at NB, but still skiing on the Mersey.
Nice one Gareth. Well up for a session soon 🐟🎣
The old Bailarm trick yep think we all done that one before when in haste, very irritating.Better luck with the fish hopefully next time.🎣🐟😎👍🏽
Thanks for watching
Nice Plaice Gareth. Hounds are in HH bay now
You should try Llanfwrog for them
Good video as ever Gareth, honest venue info is always appreciated. I was half planning my first outing there on Monday morning, might replace the two hour drive with the 45 mins to perch now 🙂
Love fishing Perch Rock, I am considering going this Monday morning.
Good stuff Gareth. On my list this spring to venture that way in addition to my local marks of Talacre (3 ‘no hound’ sessions and counting so far this year!) and New Brighton. Is the parking okay there?
Parking is £2.20 for 24 hrs, nice sized car park right by the beach and the walk is easier than Talacre. Very enjoyable beach to fish
Nice one Gareth great size hound 👍 Looks a nice beach as well
Cheers Graham, it's quite a nice venue, the walk out isn't as bad as Talacre
@@garethwilliams3333 always good to save on the walking, fished rock channel this morning no good the walk back was harder than going out 🤪will have to keep chipping away at it 😢
