    I have a question, i havent started pathology yet(in the uni), and i m in the mid of my 3rd year, now shall i complete costanzo physio and pathoma and then move to doing q banks(plan on starting with uw offline)? Do u suggest doing lectures books parallel to questions, and if i dont wanna do 2nd pass of uw and move to amboss, how do i review uw, especially since i m new to pathology so the qs i see on uw are novel to me, so i m basically studying that for the first time, how should i go about uw explanations bcs if i do it really well the 1st time, i have chances of forgetting that uw explanation, should i make notion toggle notes out of uw explanations? I have no problem with starting with the qbanks, but i m agitated about forgetting the info and taking the info down which’s time consuming and also many qs a re totally new to me, in med schl so far i ve just studied anatomy biochem and physiology. Also what us better pathoma or goljan?

    • @KhaledAbdelghanyMD
      @KhaledAbdelghanyMD 2 месяца назад

      I don't advise spending extra hours. This is a marathon and you need to live your life outside of Medicine. To get a good LOR you need to develop a personal connection with your attending (sincerely get to know them) and display some level of competence. Look up the RIME scale and aim for manager. I would ask them to write the letter and keep it saved. ERAS requires a direct upload. If applying outside of ERAS then you can use interfolio.

    Hey man, thanks for the video. Im a UK grad whos applying this year for surgery - im open to taking a prelim spot a well. What have you noticed in terms of prelim > categorical? As in how common is it to get a categorical position and what factors potentially influenced this?

      All the unmatched prelims (6) in my program ended up with categorical positions. The key is finding an institution that has a reputation for helping re applicants match, networking, making great impressions, reviewing your entire application with a mentor, and applying broadly.
