In Dark Lord The Rise of Darth Vader it explains Vaders pain and anguish and said from vaders thoughts quote "If not for events on Mustafar, he would sit on the Coruscant throne, his wife by his side, their child in her arms."

I think that Anikin still missed Padmé when he was alive as Vader deep down inside. I kinda feel sorry for Anikin in a way, oh by the way when movie order or book order is backwards it's called a prequel, so basically Star Wars is a prequel.
