Congrats! What were the two shoes you wore? I see you started in the Pegasus Trail 5 but what did you change into?
Yeh definitely had a welcome change at 56km into the Hoka Speedgoat 5s. Love both of them. Just the Pegasus duck into my swollen Achilles slightly. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron Thanks Aaron. That's good to know. I've not done a 100k before but wondered whether normal road trainers would be appropriate for the first half, as a lot seems to be on road? And a change into something like the Peg Trail 5 for the second half?
Yes they are!l love them
They are brilliant 🙌 Thanks for watching 🙏
Wow, the Pong Yaeng Trail sounds like an incredible adventure-can't wait to see the beauty of the Thai jungle!
Really beautiful trails 👌🏽 ⛰️ Thanks for watching 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron welcome
🔥🔥🔥
Looking forward to your next FESPA Vid 🙌
@@EnduranceAaron you’ll have to send me any footage you have so I can include it in. I don’t have that video of me at the start of this vlog 🤔
Absolutely epic, what a location! Humidity, altitude, differences in terrain plus jet lag, we're so lucky you can bring us on your adventures."Keep climbing" and achieving these incredibly memorable milestones !!🌏🥇💪
❤️ appreciate you Ignacio 🙏 thanks for watching and hopefully bump into you soon 🙌
Great 😊
Thanks for watching Kim 🙏
well done on your race and great video!
Thank you. Really enjoyed the experience. Thanks for watching 🙏
Epic !! Good job
Appreciate it 🙏 and thank you for watching 🎥
good video, just a weird understanding of a 2 beat kick. It should be 2 beats per stroke cycle, not 2 beats per stroke.
Thanks for watching. Yes I agree with exactly what you’ve said. Apologies if any confusion. It’s one thing I’m consistently trying to improve and seek out which works best for me as well. Appreciate you watching
If this shoe had a Vibram sole, it would be the best Trail shoe and one of the best shoes Nike has ever made! I still love it as it is, haven't sliped yet.
Agreeeeeed 🙌 Just imagine if it had better grip, we’d all be wearing them. Thanks so much for watching 🙏
You can't train your muscles and practice your skills to hurt other people. What kind of person are you?
Even women who travel to his country are deceived into having free meals at tourist attractions.
I like your review. You're the first one to point out about the "bath tub-like" mid-sole of the nikes that has been very underrated but effective in the shoe world
@cebrium thanks for watching 🙏 Yeh I mean we learn from the best and it was best described by a Nike rep at a shoe conference. He explained it in great detail and us shoeys love that detail. I’ve literally worn these to pieces even travelling on holidays. Just a great all rounder
Thank you so much for this review! I was torn between the Hoka Speedgoat and NIke Pegasus. Gonna go for the Nike Pegasus. What are your thoughts on the GoreTex material? Will it affect breathability?
Hi Christine, thank you for watching. Personally I love both. I guess your procrastination may be similar to mine and my advice would be if you’re doing road to trail then definitely go for the Pegasus over the speedgoat. Speedgoats are more trail specific and the lugs on the heel wear out pretty quickly if used on tarmac too much. In terms of goretex material, I have the Pegasus trail 4s in the goretex in two colourways and to be honest I’ve never had too much troubles with breathability. In fact, they are a breathable as the statement of waterfproof doesn’t quite live up to the hype. That was on the 4s, I’m yet to test the 5s in goretex. Thanks again 🙏
Love the focus on quick, no-equipment workouts! What’s your favorite beginner move for legs and butt?
Exactly. We have so much at our disposal with just our own body and nothing else. So for my favourite beginner move keeping it simple squats are always a winner for any beginner. Always remember to squeeze those cheeks at the top of a squat. Moving up more of a full body workout slightly more advanced it has to be a Burpee for sure 👌🏽 Thanks for watching 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron thank you
Hi sir , do you use the same size in these? Or you went sizes up ?
Hi Jason, thank you for watching. I stayed same size 11.5US which I’m the same in most Nike shoes.
@@EnduranceAaron thank you for the info
I have the exact same shoe 👍, totally agree with your opinion of this shoe so close to a perfect trail/road shoe, I have since stopped running in my Pegasus 41's in favor of these for all my training. Great Vid Cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺🦘.
Thanks for watching David. Yeh it’s simply just a great all rounder. Plushness seems to have died off a bit after a few miles but it’s still super comfy 👌🏽
What a beautiful trip! The view of the cathedral from your air bnb 👌 What a great achievement and engaging video.
Thanks for watching Em x
Loved this mate, what an adventure! Really cool to see how you got all that kit along with you and a mini house as well 😀

Good vid mate, I’ll join you on a bikepacking trip one of these days.

Happy days ☺😍
Thanks for watching Yana 😃
How do these compare to the Saucony Xodus Ultra 2? cheers if you have any info
Hi Clair, firstly big thank you for watching. Saucony ironically I haven’t had the pleasure of even trying yet. I did eye a pair in Singapore recently but never tried. I know they are pretty durable so longevity will be great 👌🏽 the drop is a bit less so that transition may not feel as good, however I understand they are on sale atm and at that price it’s a steal 💯
Just subbed!
Thank you 🙏 appreciate it
So this is why you're selling that basketball boot collection. Replacing them with trail shoes :D
Mate I’m retired from 🏀 They just taking up space 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
Looks like a great event. Seems a great setting for a tri 👌
Honestly a course that has everything. Great swim in the lake, relatively good riding surfaces, flat so good for both beginners and those aiming for PBs. The run really nice and great crowd atmosphere. One of my fave short distances for sure 😃 Thanks for watching again Stu 🙏 hope you’re well and enjoying a good summer
Great job mate, excellent performance especially considering all your recent ultras!
Cheers Ben. I definitely realised I need to get some interval training done 😂
i tried the swim technique.....and love it! Thanks mate you know your stuff
Thanks for watching 🙏 Yeh I remember years back to my lessons my swim coach explain to me “slow everything down” and when I did that it all came together really well. Gives you more time to think about hip rotation, reach & pull, and of course breathing. Gradually over time you’ll see improvements. Appreciate the comment and watch 🙏
Produced in Vietnam for something like $25 😅
Yeh exactly. Is a shame on the inflation hence in the review I highlight the need for a better price point. I was fortunate to have vouchers otherwise I wouldn’t have purchased these at the price point. Ironically I’ll be wearing these in Vietnam in November for a race 🇻🇳 Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🙏
Looks like an awesome ride. I’d love to see a map alongside your video. Something like sportstracklive
Yeh I have seen a few vids with the interactive map, that would add to the video for sure. Might do this for my next ride or an ultra. Thanks for watching 🙏
I’ll go for a ride with you. I’d have to keep up with you though.
If this is the DJ I think it is, last time I went for a ride with you, you had me throwing up under a grape vine 🍇 🚴♂️ 🤢 😂
Hmmm...Is it that simple.... If you don't know one or two things about science-based long-term training, there are only three rules you should follow: Get a coach, get a coach and get a coach! Otherwise chances are high that you pay a shitload of money to enter an IM and you'll have the worst day of your life on the course.
It is all about research, trial and error. The content from my video is based off my own personal training plan from my own personal coach. It is based on scientific based long term training that you speak of and as a coach myself, I prepare similar training programs for my clients. So I’ve followed your 3 rules of coach coach coach this coming from x2 coaches. Each training plan differentiates based on individuals, however this is a great base plan for those who cannot afford a coach as this was the case for me early on. So my intent is to share scientific based research of a plan designed for myself to help those in the community. I choose to help as many as I can and am very careful about sharing proven methods as opposed to opinions. Thank you for your opinion and I appreciate you watching my video 🙏
Not worth it. Mine broke after 29km with the heel decoupling from the midsole.
Yeh I did see that problem with a few. Thankfully mine are okay. I read one post where someone was taking their shoe off using the other foot on the heel of the shoe, definitely not recommended due the design of that heel. Thanks for watching, appreciate you 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron Hohoho! I know which reddit post you are referring too! Luckily yours is in good shape. I love the shoe but I hate the quality control issues. In Singapore, there are cases where the entire midsole split/cracked and separated from the upper. Still, all of us could not get a refund and only a 1 to 1 exchange. Perhaps it could be an environment issue but for a shoe which I only ran 3 times and under 30km, it's quite unacceptable :( Love your content, keep it up!
Why I am not surprised.
What an effort! Great job mate and after that beast of a flight too 😴 Well done on getting it finished and for such a great cause too, respect
Cheers Ben 🙌 Hope you’re well and hopefully catch you at a race soon 🏃🏻♂️
Wow, you are an absolute BEAST!!🦵💪 Really good time for the finish, not to mention this is after a 16 hours flight 😮
Thanks for watching Rheno03 🙌 really appreciate it 🙏 Have a great weekend
Up to the tapering you were putting out really good information. But there have been not only a hand full of studies which have shown that reducing volume and keeping intensity is a more effective way to taper. Still a very informative video, confirming that everything I have been doing so far was right. I‘m a semi professional ultra endurance cyclist trying to spice things up a little with an Ironman
Yeh I am in complete agreement with you. It’s a real kind of greyish area with studies showing/saying positive and negative to intensity. I am like you though, I still do interval stuff in the lead up. I guess I’m just paranoid of tapering flu 🤧 😂 End of the day individually it’s important to be in tune and understand our bodies. So many factors can affect each person. Thank you for watching and best of luck with your endurance cycling, sounds fun 🤩 🙏 appreciate your comment
Great effort on the time, bud! Sub 15 hours on the next one.
Yeh definitely doable. I was slower on course than the year before, but spent no time aid stations this year so overall faster. Next year a solid sleep before I’ll be sweet 😂 appreciate you. Just finished filming Part B will be out tomorrow
Will be any video from the 100k race? Would be amazing Congrats for the nice finishing time! ❤
So, on that 😂 I definitely have a story to tell and it will be in the form of a race recap as things went bad too worse from before I even left Australia that included a head injury, to arriving at the start line of the race and leaving my camera in the taxi. So unfortunately no footage, however there is definitely an engaging story to tell and more, so I’ll be writing that script in the coming days and popping a video out. Thanks a heap and appreciate the follow 🙏
Wow, sounds like it was challenging a BIT! 💪 Looking forward for the video!
Congratuatios, an amazing effort, Aaron! 😊 Can't wait to get my mask and try it.
@@elsa-marjasorvo1157 it’s on its way 😃
If these weren't nike no one would buy them. Not with all those faults and durability issues. But it's Amazing what you can get away with for the "cool" factor. Even I am tempted but can't justify the price. Sticking with my max cushion trainers for my bang for buck!!
the adidas adios pro 3 always exists as an alternative haha
Thank you for watching I appreciate it. Yeh I get what you’re saying, there’s always that hype being a show from ‘the big boys’. And exactly agree with the comment after, there are just as great alternatives if not better in certain areas for a more justifiable price. End of the day I absolutely love them, I’ve had zero issues and they perform extremely well for me, but 100% agree the price tag is ridiculous 🤯
Huge respect Mate! Sooo impressive you pushed through on those hard parts! Gained a new subscriber 😊 Good luck for 100K💪
Thanks Ivan. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and commenting 🙏

Thanks for watching 🙏
You lot went past me literally running down the pyg track as I was on the way up early.. added 20+ minutes to my ascent letting everyone go past! 😅 Still, as I said then, much rather you than me!
Aww bless ya. Yeh it was a busy one out there. I made sure to say a big thanks to those who made way for us and tried not to be too much of a pain 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron not at all, it was mad to see all you nutters going for it and the day was so incredible we lost nothing by slowing down a bit. Great vid and solid presenting, earned a sub!
What height do I set my poles to? I imagine that would be important.
Yeh great question, something I didn’t cover. I’m 6”0 so I set mine to about 130cm. Rule of thumb generally is the handle should be about 6-8 inches above your elbow. There’s plenty of good advice online and that’s how I learnt, then just adapted them slightly to be comfortable for me. Depends on the poles as well, some will have less flexibility to adjust than others. Thanks for watching and good luck when using yours Kim. Take care 😃
Great, thank you!
Subscribed as soon as he mentioned the aussie flag. :)
Haha 😂 thought I might lose some English subscribers after that. Good to know I gained one ☝️ Thanks for watching
Great video. That was me at 7:35 and 7:43. I remember seeing you on the road back to collect your poles. After throwing up 4 times, you did well to make up time on Mynydd Mawr and get to the third checkpoint under the cut-off. You must have overtaken me on the road home, finishing 7 places ahead of me. That 3rd hill was a real killer for a lot of people. Good run. Well done.
Graham I’ve just watched yours and loved it. That drone footage was AMAZING and just loved listening to your race experience 👏
A fellow Ozzie! Looks you had one HOT date! 🥵😍 Love that you bumped into Simba from BTR & well done on the finish! Great video Aaron 👊🏽 Don’t suppose I can tempt you into a UTS 100 miles with me next year instead of the km? 😉 Oh, & Good luck in two weeks!
Gday 🙌 it was definitely one hot date 🔥 she tested me 😂 Yeh Simba is just such a top guy. I will attempt a 100mile in 2025 as I’ll have x4 100k’s under the belt by then, however I’ll probably do 100 mile flat 😂 Snowden I must show her respect 😂
@@EnduranceAaron Gday! 🇦🇺 She might have been too hot haha, You know it’s bad when people desperately turn to questionably green ponds & lakes for extra water 🙈 Yeah, top lad! Haha, well bring on 2025! Love your vlog style, & I’m super keen to follow the journey mate! 👊🏽 Crush it
@@ActiveIdeas yeh I was drinking from anything 🤣 probably why I fell sick 🤢 Yeh looking forward to pushing out some more vids. Next one should be epic London to Brighton straight after working the 3rd longest flight in the world 🤪
