Not literally mage only since you need a ranged weapon to proc stun consistently, but this is an example of a perfect kill with mid game items. I use smoke barrage until I get a hit to inflict poison at the beginning. Mage doesn't gain the accuracy bonus of the jellyfish/orb like ranged does, so you can opt for blood barraging through the chip damage if you don't have a trident.

EDIT: On 8/9/23 they changed Dukes vents during prep to always be in a predictable rotation. This makes it so using this method will cause you to guaranteed take damage on the west salt. I would suggest doing the prep normally but starting on the west instead of the east to prevent you from taking vent damage and ruining your perfect kill.
