Recently got into Omori, haven't beaten the game yet but I already knew the main points of the story. Despite spoilers I received years before I even considered playing the game, it still has such an emotional impact. I still like thinking about the Omari timeline tho, as instead of Sunny thinking he killed his perfect sister, Mari would be racked with gilt from focusing on perfection rather than her brother's well being and feelings. I feel that her trauma might even be worse since she always had more of a gardian role for Sunny and the rest of the group, thus her inability to initially see how distressed Sunny was when preparing for the recital, how she was yelling at him during the argument, and how it lead to his death, she would be much more adamant that it was her fault. She might even feel she chose perfection over her brother, seeing herself as a selfish monster. But I never considered how hurt Basil would be over everything. I always felt Aubrey would try to keep him company, but the loss of Sunny would crush him. When Hero lost Mari he still had his brother and family, which while it took time, allowed Hero to partially recover. But Basil was basically getting hints his parents wanted nothing to do with him. He had his grandmother, but she won't be there forever, and while Polly is very loving and caring of Basil, it would be a reminder that his parents weren't a part of his life, and I feel there would still be love, but a barrier between them. Having someone he would honestly do anything for leave his life so suddenly, believing he killed himself, then to find out later that he was lied to about Sunny's death, I honestly can't see him being forgiving to Mari. Your animatic captured that idea well.

I love the vague implication that Maris headspace would be darker than Sunnys because she's older and has a naturally more limited imagination than that of a 12-16 year old (shed be like 15-19) because as people grow up they might become more pessimistic or the sad thoughts always seep into the happy, naive thoughts because they can see the bigger picture of things naturally.

I think in headspace instead of purple they would be white since they were purple because Mari’s favourite colour is purple, but Sunny’s favourite colour is white. And I think Hero would be blue and Basil would be white like the rest since I think Basil was a different colour because he was there when Mari died, while in the OMARI Au Hero was the accomplice. And Basil was real because that’s his favourite colour (I think) and Hero’s favourite colour is blue. But overall, good animation!🩷

Hard to really see Sunny forgiving all of the bullshit he went through, just to die, but i guess this is fine.

Sunny's smug-ish smile at the "you will save me" is pretty fitting with the events, and being aware of what happened. Mari's reaction is nice too.

Basil's character will slightly resemble Rowan's in Omari, assuming from his appearance. He would be severely impacted by Sunny's death, and that would also make The Truth more hurtful to him. His best friend, dead through the hands of his sister. Basil's personality, and attachment to Sunny, will make it unacceptable to him, coupled with the somehow worse-moral issues of the entire AU's event.

I always assumed that Basil would be hostile in OMARI, no matter what happens. He pretty much goes through Aubrey-ification, however the hatred is going to be much brighter.

One thing i always found of note in the Omari AUs is just how... her killing Sunny is somehow more unforgivable than the other way around. It's odd, but i guess it ties to who the people involved are.
