Red Balloon Educational Trust
Великобритания
Добавлен 23 мар 2010
Welcome to the Red Balloon Educational Trust (formerly Red Balloon Learner Centre Group) RUclips channel.
We provide an 'intensive care' full-time education for children aged between 10 and 17 who are unable to go to school because of bullying, trauma, or mental ill-health.
We promise the students whom we accept a safe environment with clear boundaries for behaviour, and an individual full-time academic, pastoral and therapeutic programme.
Once students have regained their confidence and are able to cope academically and socially, we support them in their return to mainstream school, their entry to further education or to employment.
Red Balloon has five Centres across the South of England, as well as a blended face-to-face and online Centre known as Red Balloon of the Air (RBAir). We have Centres or RBAir student hubs in Cambridge, Milton, Danbury, Reading, Norwich, NW London and Worthing.
Red Balloon Educational Trust is a registered charity. Reg Charity No: 1109606

Life at Red Balloon Reading in 2019-20
Red balloon has genuinely saved my life
Was the Red Balloon Learner Center named after the 1956 short film "Red Balloon" ?
Yes it was! 😊
SO do you get to wear what you want and also do you get taught alone with a teacher because if so.. I will feel way more comfortable instead of getting asked randomly by a teacher and not knowing the answer, and then everyone laughs?
Hi Scarlett, Yes, we don't have a uniform and our students wear what they feel comfortable in. Most of our students may start with 1:1 lessons, but as they feel more confident they'll also learn in small groups. Definitely no-one will laugh at you if you don't know something, everyone is here to enjoy learning together again.
@@RedBalloonEducation Thanks so much for replying. I am thinking of going there, but two questions; Do you get to wear make-up and do your hair however you want and do the teachers ask you questions in front of people? And by the way, the teachers always made me feel really bad, they also laughed when I got something wrong and shouted very loud when I used to try and ask my partners what thee answers are as I'm very confused. I really hope the teachers aren't strict, haha. Also, I heard that the teachers or whoever pay for your buspass, is that so because that's great! and do we get to have free laptops?
Hi @@scarlettindia2165, our students can have hair and make-up in the way they like, as long as it doesn't get in the way when they are trying to learn or do activities with us. I'm sorry that teachers have made you feel bad before. With us if you're in a small group (two or three students) teachers may ask you something to check if you understand and to help you learn - but if you don't know the answer they wouldn't shout at you, it would just mean they know they need to explain it again in a different way that you can understand better. Unfortunately we don't have free bus passes for our students. Our physical Centres have some laptops or computers for students to use while they are there during the day. Our online provision RBAir, is taught on laptops which are provided to students while they study with us, but we don't give students a laptop to keep forever.
@@RedBalloonEducation Ok thanks!
are there any schools like this on a in the westmidlands my son is taunted and bullied on a daily basis I'm feeling lost on how to help him he's constantly upset and feels he cannot talk to anyone he's a bright boy but I feel he's falling behind the anxiety I see in him is distressing and caused by others it's hard to watch your child feel so isolated please help I have made complaints to school governing bodies but even I'm feeling what's the point my I am finding it difficult to send my son to school though has excellent attendance taunted on a daily basis is getting to the point of ridiculous thankyou
I would like to say thank you for your bravery in telling your story as a mum watching your beautiful daughter become ill but then to flourish with the help of Redballoon. My daughter has just been accepted into Redballoon and I am struggling to get her in there. They are being fantastic, no pressure and taking little steps to gain some comfort into my daughter walking into the premises. It is lovely to see your daughter smiling, may it continue xxx
