In Australia..these winged Termites are call 'Elates' and sent out from a Nest to create new colonies..trouble is, they are'nt good flyers and don't have much of a Life span (less than 24 Hours ??) Alates are'nt usually anything to worry about, as they die quickly before doing any damage.

I have cameras all around the yard which has been helpful in learning their routes. Without cameras you’re flying blind, because they are indeed smart and you can go back and watch what happened and adjust your trap placement to improve your odds of catching the most elusive rats.

Do these bite? I got not by something that looks similar . What else could cause a extremely painful bite swelling and pain lasting for 20 minutes ?

Good info. Today's building materials involves a lot of Vinyl (vinyl windows and doors) which will melt with heat. Today's building codes require the installation of fire sprinklers in every new home which would need to be drained and all the tips replaced...It's no longer feasible to do all encompassing heat...I do use heat on Commercial projects as area treatments..I use Lee at Quality for both all encompassing solutions.

Bait not all the time effective, waiting for termites to pick up the baits but they are already eating halfway eating your home. What a waste of time. You need to do both trenching and baiting (inside and outdoor) of your home.
