We also fished Drive in bay just north of Shelley ski boat club and picked up a kob and the shad catch of a lifetime. I did as he requested, I took out the hook from the shad, I usually do help brother, however a hook through the finger is a sensitive area with tendons, he was taken to the hospital and it was removed by a doctor. I hope you understand
If a person is not medically trained, its not wise to interfere with something like this. Its not a matter of not helping, Reshal helps everyone, all the time, if he is able to do so. There are some things best left to the professionals.

Thank you brother, it truly was a amazing session. The uncle eventually went to a doctor to get the hook removed, I did not want to take a chance and remove it as it could of damaged a tendon. Tight lines 🐟🎣

Really miss this part of the world and the fishing bro. Moved to Cape Town 24 years ago. I visited in 2023 and fished in Rocky Bay. Caught a few shad and caranteen. In Cape Town shad is called elf and caranteen is called stripees.

Hi bru...wen one is fishing in a small crowd you basically will have to follow the traces of the other fisherfolk..cos if you suddenly fish drift then you will most probably end up pulling out and tangling all the top bunk traces cos the drift bait is submerged in water and you cant really follow it as gud as a topbunk😮😅😂😂❤❤❤

Big tree beach Ramsgate. Best baits, red eye sardine or chokka or a combo of both, use a bronze bream trace with floatation, it's helped me alot recently. Hope that helps. Tight lines 🐟🎣

You dont show or mention release of small kob. Minimum size is 60cm and limit is 1 fish. Blessed catches, but mention more about conservation and handling of fish to be released.

how to use it ?
Good question, you can use various different baits, sardine, squid(chokka) mackerel. You cut your bait accordingly to the size of the crayfish gear, tie it onto the gear with ghost cotton. Usually casts are made into areas where there's rocks in the surf. Hope this helps and tight lines 🦞🐟🎣

How I miss our #14 wire gears

I used to live in Umzinto on South Coast and did my fishing between Scotsburgh and Rocky Bay. Born and brought up there but never got used to fishing in a crowd like this. Miss the fun, now living in Cape Town for 24 years. Was there in 2023 and enjoyed the fishing.
Fishing in a crowd like this requires alot of patience, I'm also not used to fishing in crowds.. Hope you fishing in the Cape waters 🐟🎣 tight lines
