    Hi Jason I’m in the repair industry although it’s in the house building trade for the most part in new built houses. We were supplied & trained with a devilbliss Sri pro, but personally I don’t know why but I really don’t enjoy using it at all! This gun looks fantastic I think the Sri is just a bit too much for the repairs I do mostly they are 3/4mm chips at times. I’m really considering this one! I’m currently carrying a 10L 110 volt compressor with transformer & the 10m heavy rubber hose with a Sri through sites it just feels like overkill to blow in tiny chips on kitchen units & showertrays and whatnot. Could you please recommend a portable compressor that would accommodate the lph80 & make my 9-5 days a little easier 😂

    I’ve got a Binks “Thor 7” spray gun from the late 1930s. From my research the “Thor” part of the name was dropped around 1951 and from then on it was just the Binks 7. I bought it because I restore antique Ford tractors and I have seen pictures of the tractors getting painted at the factory using the Binks Thor 7 so I figured if I’m going to repaint the tractors I wanted to use the same spray gun they were originally painted with.

    Just had to come back and say... Thank you! After listening to the advice from this video, I sprayed possibly the best coat of clear I've ever sprayed. I'm using a different gun, and spraying a guitar neck. But the overall method is the same for all spray guns. I've spent countless hours listening to people all say the same things. Reading the same stuff from article to article. With my best efforts, I could only ever achieve a somewhat smooth coat. A solid B at best. Always a bit of orange peel, or some issue somewhere. After applying the wall of air method... I was shocked. The coat I sprayed today was perfectly smooth, and looked as if it had already been level sanded and polished. And this was using water based poly. A relatively thick product. 1.0mm tip. So, the atomization is fine. But I'm stunned. This is by far the best advice ive found anywhere. Simply amazing. Thanks again!

    I hope you can help me in my on going search my son gave me a "Gift" of a knee operated Singer sewing machine on the front of the sewing machine it showed a model #AB157651 I have been searching to find a manual or something on refurbishing it to use. I was rescued from a garage in Memphis Tn. and brought to me in Las Vegas,NV. It was in terrible condition and missing a plate over the bobbin housing. It took two hours in cleaning alone and I'm still not finished. I have no idea how to connect the light and I haven't checked it out yet to see if it works,baby steps with it. I have been looking for a manual and that was a task in itself no luck there either. If you can steer me in the right direction this "Gift" might be just that. I do prefer older machines they are work horses and last a long time. It's something to pass down.

    Enjoying your videos. Late to the party mainly because I had no reason to be doing researching on spray guns. This has changed because with the C-19 issue I needed a project to keep me busy, so I decided to paint my Honda Goldwing GL1500. It has some 54 parts/pieces when stripped own, and the paint is a pearl Glacier White. The information on the paint code was not available, so we substituted this with Hyundai Stormtrooper Pearl White. I have finished this phase of painting using 2 inexpensive spray guns and a Sprayit 33000 LVLP for clear. My paint guy here has not steered me wrong, and has mentioned that the three part paint system I had to do was one of the more difficult one to do. My focus was to put 3 coats of colour, 3 coats of pearl, and 3 coats of clear and do so without having any runs. The finished product is quite good, y paint guy was impressed and I have had a lot of favourable comments from other motorcyclists. The painting was done in our garage. I did have some mishaps as I got started, but kept at it. I have been perusing the web regarding paint spray guns, view the Gunman videos and others as well. Your video on this spray gun and the Sata LPH80 seem to present good value for a reasonable price, especially this U-Pol gun. I agree with the need for a separate clear coat spray gun and at least one if not two more depending on what painting you are doing. I have a preference now for colours that include a pearl aspect so three guns make sense to me. I will be keeping the Sprayit 33000 LVLP for clear coat, but want to replace the inexpensive spray guns - only paid $40.00 CDN the pair, with two better quality spray guns. Are you still of the opinion that the U-Pol spray gun is good value. I have looked at the Sata LPH 80 as well. The U-Pol spray gun with a 1.0 mm nozzle is approximately $200.00 CDN delivered from Bitec Paint and Refinishing Suppliers in the UK. My next major painting project will be to paint my 1985 Goldwing Limited Edition that is Gold metallic with brown accent paint. I'm thinking I'll change to a Gold and brown pearl colour, this bike is my retirement project - have been working on it and riding it for the past 4 1/2 years. Your insight and advice would be appreciated. Regards Ernest Nash Victoria, BC, Canada

    • @jasonevans6720
      @jasonevans6720 4 года назад

      Ernest, this gold paint colour is going to be more challenging than the white pearl, avoiding streaking and mottling I think I will advise you to get a higher end gun, the lph 80 and the u-pol are good guns but would be challenging to use on a gold, try either a anest iwata w400 1.3 or SATA jet4 hvlp 1.2 the SATA is a smaller gun if you don't fancy using a full size gun, the theory here is to make big wide strokes when spraying the base.

      @@jasonevans6720 Thank you for the quick reply. I also have a Devilbiss FLG4 with a 1.3 mm nozzle. Highly recommended by my paint guy, and I like the fact that the internals have the same anodized coating as the exterior finish. I will look into the iwata w400 and sata jet 4. Cost is always an issue, seems the w400 is more reasonably priced than the Sata jet 4. I only have a small compressor so spray gun CFM is a consideration. The parts that are going to be painted are relatively small. The largest piece will be the front fairing. Enjoying viewing your videos, and have found them most helpful. Like your explanation of how far to hold the spray gun with the wall of air test, have shared this with others that I correspond with. Going to do a test with several of my paint guns.
