Pedantic but never condescending and full of helpful information. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video..
Thanks!
When you were talking about the different types of learning , you did talk about groups but i missed the more one on one approach, i prefer to learn one on one where one person shows and i can repeat that after watching them and them observing me and giving feedback
I didn't talk about one to one learning as with most reenactors and with the SCA this is generally the norm. It is most definitely one of the most powerful and fastest ways to learn. I specifically mentioned the group learning techniques as some people can get quite stressed in one to one situations as they feel too much under the spotlight.
No llamas?! Unacceptable!
😂
This was useful also for me as a non fighter, discussion about different learning styles, things that trips you up learning and how to facilitate actually getting things done applies to pretty much everything one does, I find. I'm a bit of chaotic thinker, so I like how you structure your thinking and create frameworks. I would like to know more about how you motivate yourself to keep working at it when you feel you struggle to make progress, when you feel you have plateaued and you feel stuck.
Thank you!
retrofitting. i think thats the word you were looking for. :D very interesting stuff and i got a few good laughs. good luck with it all!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Starting out on a journey of a riveted chainmail hauberk and it causes much aggregation your humor keeps me going
Helm, gorget, poleyne, and shoes (Saboton!) Helm, gorget, poleyne, and shoes (Saboton!) Gauntlets, vambrace, couter, and cuisse Helm, gorget, poleyne, and shoes!
I do so enjoy your videos. You never fail to give me a good chuckle (and a little education to go with it).
Interesting comparison :-)
So I made a small error in the video, breast armour is not a must have, but if you do have it 'Separate breast cups are prohibited unless connected by or mounted on an interconnecting rigid piece, for example, a heavy leather or metal breastplate'.
Shame you didn't show getting into your full Norman gear for Regia as a comparison too, that's how I remember fighting you most often! Great fun video though, and it makes perfect sense - hit each other with rattan sticks, must be more heavily protected than historical warriors were. Hit each other with steel (admittedly blunted), a layer of linen or wool is fine!!!!
Sadly I no longer have the full Norman kit, but a layer of linen is excellent protection against steel 🙂
Hey, I came across this video while looking for a way to make a historical aspis, do you think the way to make a lenticular shield would be suitable for opening a Greek shield? btw great video
Hi, I'm not sure it would, unfortunately, as you need a much greater curve. I'd try forming lots of half thickness 'pie' sections (seperate mould for front and back pieces) and then laminating them together with a 50% overlap.
When is the second part out
Hi, I'm planning the second part in about 4 weeks time. Life got in the way, but at least I've now had a bit of time using the tent, which hopefully will make for some interesting feedback.
Thoroughly looking forward to the next part. Thank you for this. Ive been scratching my head on this for the better part of 2 years as my HEMA group wants to get more into the living history side of things and one day make the trip to Wolin. This has been a massive help
Important to never forget to designate a victim as smoke magnet for the evening too of course.
Thank you Uncle Frog, that was interesting! I also quite love the horned tat-hat, a set of valkyrie boob cups and your valkyrie kit is next to complete! 😄 I'd love to see the inside of your reenactment helm at some point, I'm looking for new ways to attach linings to crowns, and maybe I could learn something.
I'll bring it along next time we meet. I now need to scour the internet for high quality tat boob armour. 😁
@@unclefrogsendeavours Yes please and yes please! 😄🙂
Can’t go wrong with a bit of High Quality Tat!
Never considered charcoal before! Sounds perfectly nice.

Every once in a while RUclips does something right and recommends a channel to me that I would not have otherwise come across. Absolutely love the content and personality. Subscribing and sending to my friends to water. Keep at this RUclips thing and the good work you're doing with the content!!
Thank you for your kind words and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂
Very treefroggy really, hop hop hop! 😆 And interesting. I disagree with the MEB though.
The MEB can be real party poopers, the Stilton was very disappointed.
Nice one! All a bit tiny on the phone. Will watch again on a bigger screen…
Very nice!
Thanks!
Nice!
