The translator is good, but can do better. The word "drup" which Khandro-la uses countless times, actually means "to exist" or "(truly) exist", not "established". That is Tibetan Buddhist jargon, a peculiarty of the Tibetan language, and comes out as very confusing if not culturally rendered.

And here I thought that the twelve links of dependent origination was referring to how samsara is perpetuated by ignorance of the dharmata nature of mind. So the basis isn’t free from the extremes of existence and non-existence? Isn’t dependent origination just utilized temporarily to establish a path? Isn’t liberation a state completely free from grasping at any existence whatsoever? Free from reification of anything at all? Is emptiness established???? What??
