When I was younger I always wondered why they would build a bridge this high above the water. I only recently realized they didn't. The world's oceans have been drained by the Combine, resulting in this huge decrease in sea level.

Half Life 2 has the best atmosphere i've seen in any fps

I think, it one of the important places for the whole videogame industry and gamers. From the game design, technical and style perspective it is such a good map. I remember replaying it dozens of times, from the times, when i was a little kid to till present. I think, it is the quintessence of half life 2 as the phenomenon, including the unique ambience of the game - alien-like, lonely, post-apocalypse. Every time it gives me chills

me and half life 2 are the same age, always was something i wanted to play when i was young because in my baby photos, in the background there where posters for the game. now, 20 ish years later i know why its so good.

The music really drove home the precarious environment on this part. So much tension, so much cold sweat, just remember to breathe and watch your step.

It feels like it’s making you feel relax but then your getting turned into a zombie that eats human and your face is a crab.
